(Y/n)'s POV
Brilliant colors swirled all around the young woman as she floated around a strange landscape. Where was she? How did she get here? She had no idea, but the place was calming and she felt at ease. She slowly swam around the area, playing around with the various colors as they took on different shapes. Sometimes they were animals, sometimes they were objects, but usually, they were just soft clouds that drifted and swirled around her, making her feel safe and happy.
All of a sudden, the colorful clouds disappeared, leaving her in a vast space with solid blocks and circles of black and white. She started to nervously try to swim away from the shapes, but gravity returned, causing her to have to stand up and walk. She walked and walked in the strange land for hours and hours before she came across a huge yin and yang symbol that seemed to glow. She quickly started running towards it when the floor disappeared from beneath her feet, causing her to fall...Down...
Down...
DOWN...
"OH JEEZUS!" The girl exclaimed loudly as she shot up, breathing heavily as adrenaline coursed through her body. She took a few deep breaths, waiting for her heart to steady itself, gripping tightly on the snow beneath her in an effort to calm herself. Wait...
Snow?!
She shot up onto her feet, nearly falling again as her legs struggled for a moment to get used to the feeling of being used and started looking around, noticing that she was near a ledge of a cliff in a mountainous area that was completely unfamiliar to her. Taking a few shaky steps forward she looked over the ledge, seeing a steep drop down into a white void of mist down below. She gulped audibly before turning around.
"Nope! Nopenopenope not today Satan!" She exclaimed with her hands raised in surrender as she quickly moved away from the ledge, only to promptly trip over something and nearly causing her to fall face-first into the snow. She quickly turned towards the offensive item, finding a leather messenger bag on the ground. Confused, the young woman walked over and picked up the bag, and started digging through it, finding a strange array of items. One was a small, green leather book with a brown leather strap wrapped around it, the second item was a glass dipping pen paired with a vial of black ink, a sewing kit, a few books on legends and myths and finally a small box with an assortment of different kinds of crystals paired with another book on crystals. She carefully opened the crystal book and saw a small message on the first page:
Dear (Y/n),
I know how much you love crystals and when I saw this book, I knew you would love it! I hope you'll use it often and will use this knowledge to make people smile. Love you with all of my heart.
MomShe stared at the message for a moment before placing a hand on her head, feeling her own confusion grow stronger and stronger as she stared each of the items down. Why did she have these? None of them were particularly useful, heck, none of them even seemed familiar to her, which did nothing to decrease her panic. She closed her eyes and pinched the bridge of her nose with her thumb and index finger, taking a deep breath as she tried to remember how she got here.
Sadly, this only made her panic more as she realised something...She couldn't remember anything. She felt her breathing grow erratic as tears suddenly filled her eyes at the realisation, but she willed her fear down and instead forced herself onto her feet. She needed help! If she stayed out here for much longer, she would die of frostbite! Besides, she at least knew her name! And if it's not hers now, then she'll make it hers! She quickly threw her bag over her shoulders and started walking in a random direction that her gut chose for her, but...
