Chapter 5

(Y/n)'s POV

"You couldn't just be happy with the top score. You had to rub it in my face!" Kai yelled at Cole, but he was too busy yelling at Jay.

"Do you know how long it took me to make that? Three days. Three days!" But once again, the person he was yelling at wasn't paying attention to him, but to someone else. In this case, Zane.

"It's an unsaid law, okay? You don't touch a man's robot!" And yet again the same problem occurred, Zane wasn't paying attention to Jay and was instead yelling at Kai.

"How am I supposed to strike fear in this? It's pink!"

(Y/n) stared dumbly at the group from the doorway as the ninja went back and forth in the blame game, each calling the other out whilst ignoring what they were being told. (Y/n) had only come in to go to the bathroom to freshen up for the day as she had just woken up, she had expected some things, but never this chaos. She decided to shrug off their emotions and instead passed them and opened the door. Instead of finding it empty, she found a small gremlin surrounded by a bunch of different things, which made the other four gasp in shock.

"You did this?" The four shouted as (Y/n) snorted in amusement at their disbelief as she ruffled Lloyd's hair. Lloyd giggled in response before smiling proudly at her. This only served to anger the ninja more.

"Boys, I get first dibs on..." Cole started as he walked over to Lloyd, but he quickly jumped into (Y/n)'s arms (almost causing her to fall) whilst Wu stopped him.

"No dibs. I put him up to this for today's lesson. I wanted to show you the destructive power of rumors and that jumping to conclusions can only lead to trouble. Did you ever think to find out if the accusations were true?" Sensei Wu asked them, but the four seemed unimpressed and didn't even bother to answer the question. As they were focused on their Sensei, (Y/n) walked away with Lloyd in her arms towards the dining area. Just before they left the room, she noticed a small book sticking out of Lloyd's back pocket. She could immediately tell it wasn't his and grabbed it, ignoring Lloyd's protests as she turned towards the group.

"Who's book is this?" She asked to which Sensei Wu raised his arm. (Y/n) threw the book at him, which he caught before leaving the ninja and getting something to eat. "Have you eaten yet today bud?" She asked him to which the young boy shook his head.

(Y/n) nodded before opening the doors to the dining room and seating him on one of the seats near the end of the table. Once he was seated, she grabbed two bowls and filled them with cereal before heading back to the table and placing one bowl in front of him together with a glass of water and a spoon. She sat next to him and the two ate together in silence until her curiosity got the better of her.

"So, why were the ninja so upset with you?" She asked him to which he swallowed his spoonful of cereal.

"I pranked them and they were upset by it." He responded nonchalantly, which made (Y/n) cock her head to the side curiously.

"What's a 'prank'?"

"Wait, you don't know what a prank is?!" He yelled before remembering her position. "Oh...right... well, it's tricking someone."

"Huh, sounds interesting! Can you tell me more?" She asked with stars in her eyes, but before he could respond, the door suddenly slammed open, revealing a very frustrated Nya who sulked over to the place opposite Lloyd. She let out a dramatic sigh before banging her head onto the table. (Y/n) and Lloyd shared a glance before (Y/n) grabbed another bowl, filled it with a cereal, and placed it on the table together with a third pair of utensils and water glass, which made Nya look up at it glumly.

"Hey, what's gotcha down Nya?" (Y/n) asked as she sat on the seat between the two and gave Nya a concerned look. She could feel the frustration and helplessness radiating off of the girl in strong waves, but she tried to ignore it to instead help her out however she could. For a moment the girl in red said nothing before sighing and grabbing her spoon and eating a little. After she finished her spoonful she finally started talking.
