Chapter 23

(Y/n)'s POV

"This whole island is swarming with Garmadon's indestructible Stone Army." Kai reported as he rushed over to the Bounty from the undergrowth, frustration flaring off of him as he grew nearer. (Y/n) paused in her leaf gathering in a nearby tree and stared at him, curious before gathering the leaves she had picked. The moment they had arrived on the Dark Island, Sensei Wu had commanded them to hide the Bounty as best they could whilst Kai left to go scout the place. Seems the final verdict isn't all that great.

"Ha! Good thing we're ninja and we know how to hide." Jay said with a confident grin which made (Y/n) chuckle before shaking her head as she jumped down to join them. Once landed, she swung her arm over Jay's shoulders happily, grinning at the Red Ninja confidently.

"Ain't that the truth." She said but faltered when she felt a strong wave of dissatisfaction and frustration from her side as the Master of Earth threw his shovel to the, well, Earth.

"Who wants to hide when you can fight? I'm getting tired of having our heads buried in the sand. I wanna fight these guys." Cole grumbled as he crossed his arms over his chest, his frustration growing. (Y/n) knew they were all antsy to start fighting, but she was also very aware of the fact that if they did, it wouldn't end well.

"But Cole, they have no apparent weakness. It would be unwise to start a fight we cannot finish." Zane told the Black Ninja to which (Y/n) nodded with a relieved sigh.

"Yeah. As Zane said, if we fight an indestructible army without a plan, the only ones who would get destroyed would be us. It's wiser to hide for now, but we can always fight later. The war is far from over after all." (Y/n) said with a bright smile as she patted Cole's shoulder reassuringly. Thankfully, it helped ease his frustration as the spikes slowly turned to slight probes which weakly pulsed around him.

"That is why we must find the Temple of Light." Sensei Wu suddenly spoke up as he exited the Bounty, a grave expression on his face. Ah, that must mean we can come back inside for now. Dang it! I wasn't even able to help that much with hiding the Bounty! (Y/n) pouted in frustration, but followed the others inside to hear what Misako had discovered. When they entered the room, she found Misako looking over her scrolls with Lloyd and Dr. Julien whilst Nya, Echo, and Tai-D read over their shoulders.
    As they entered, the group looked up and she exchanged smiles with most of them, but Misako only glared daggers at her. (Y/n) let out a frustrated sigh and stood on the opposite end of the table, not wanting to get in her way. She had accepted at this point that Misako hated her and didn't want to waste her energy on something like this. She could sense a wave of various emotions go through the room as she averted her eyes from Misako's and sat on the opposite end of the table but before she could decipher it, Misako had already started.

"The scrolls say there is a hidden temple on the island. If you find it, it will give the ninja pure elemental powers, powers that can destroy the indestructible army." Misako started and it immediately lightened the mood in the room. Finally, they had a chance to do something!

"So you're saying we get to fight? Whoo-hoo! I've got happy feet!" Cole said excitedly as he did a little dance.

"Yeah, it sounds like-" (Y/n) started, but Misako continued before she could finish.

"And you, my son, here it is written: 'For once the Green Ninja finds the instrument of peace, he will strike it and know the power of the Ultimate Spinjitzu Master.'" She told Lloyd whose eyes widened, curiosity and excitement slowly encapsulating him as he looked at the scroll.

"Ultimate Spinjitzu Master?" He asked as a smile came to his face.

"It means you will be able to invoke the power of the Golden Dragon, an ancient fighting style only practiced by the First Spinjitzu Master." Misako explained to which the four other ninja turned to Lloyd, surprise and something else coming over them.
