(Y/n)'s POV
(Y/n) let out a loud, content sigh as she comfortably cuddled up to the chest of a huge woman who was reading a book aloud. Soft colors swirled around them both, lighting the area with a colorful, ethereal glow. Even though she couldn't see her face clearly, she could feel their smile as they continued to read. She barely heard what she said, instead listening to a steady thump coming from the woman's chest as well as the vibrations that flowed through her as she spoke. She felt her eyelids grow heavy and was about to fall asleep when a few words came through to her.
"And then she flew in the night, towards the brightest star in the sky." Suddenly (Y/n) was wide awake and she pushed herself up, facing the blurry-faced woman.
"We can fly mama?!" She asked excitedly to which the woman, 'Mama', responded with a chuckle.
"I'm afraid not my dear." She sagged at that and was about to start crying when the woman hurriedly continued. "But knowing you my little star, I wouldn't be surprised if you were the first."
"You mean it??!!!" (Y/n) asked the woman with stars in her eyes who smiled at her warmly before hugging her small form close to hers.
"With all my heart my sweet, little dewdrop."
(Y/n) opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling for a second, shock coursing through her as she played through the dream once more. She had not had such a vivid dream like that in quite some time and though she was happy for the memory, it left her heart aching for some reason. She slowly got up and wiped the few tears gathering in her eyes before sighing and getting up and ready for the day.
As she was getting dressed, she suddenly felt a stab of frustration coming from the hallway as someone rushed through in a fury. (Y/n) flinched and quickly spawned her horns, sighing in relief as the emotions stayed away from her heart before furrowing her eyebrows in confusion. Why was someone in such a bad mood this early on in the morning? She quickly threw on her shirt before curiously opening the door to find four of the five ninja heading up to the deck, concern leaking off of them in troves."Good morning, what's up with you guys?" She asked them as she leaned against the doorway. The four turned to her, surprised before relaxing when they saw who it was.
"Nothing much, but Lloyd's in a sour mood because he has to clean up after the dragon." Kai told him with a shrug and (Y/n) sighed. Not this again.
"I swear, if you guys pushed it on him again-" She started, already feeling tired but Cole cut her off.
"Hey! We didn't push it on him this time! We played Rock, Paper, Clamp and he lost fair and square!" Cole told her defensively and the others nodded, leaving her pleasantly surprised. They had been forcing a lot of extra chores on Lloyd for a while now and she was happy to see them actually give him a chance to not have to do it. Ah! This must be when you do head pats!
"Huh. Cole, can you crouch down a bit?" She asked the black ninja. He raised an eyebrow before bowing down a little bit to which (Y/n) pet his head. "Well done, I'm proud of you guys!" She told him with a bright smile. Cole blushed brilliantly and quickly stood up straight, shock and warmth coursing through him and the others feeling something similar, but there was also some sourness lingering in the air that she couldn't quite identify.
"Why did you do that?!" He asked, flustered and (Y/n) cocked her head, confused.
"I'm sorry, from one of my mangas this seemed to be the kind of behavior that people exhibit when they are proud of someone or happy. Is that not the case? Did I make you uncomfortable?" (Y/n) asked, concerned and worried that she had done something inappropriate.
