(Y/n)'s POV
"What happened?" Kai asked aloud as they all disembarked the hovercraft.
(Y/n) wondered the same as the sight before her confused her more than anything else. The whole city was barren save for piles of cars on each side of the roads, but the strangest thing of all was what she was feeling. As she looked out over the city, she could not see any people, but she felt them. She felt curiosity as well as wariness coming in thin whisps from all around her and it befuddled her. Why would the people be wary of them? She slowly stretched her wings, smiling happily as she felt her once wounded wing stretch out completely without a problem before despawning them and every other crystalline attribute. She didn't want to scare any of the people after all!"No power, that's what happened." Cole grumbled and she hummed in acknowledgment as Echo spoke up.
"But then why are there no people?" The copper android asked curiously and the Black Ninja shrugged.
"I dunno, but let's hope we're not too late." He said before turning to (Y/n). "Do you sense anyone nearby?"
"I do, but it's hard to pinpoint where they are considering we're outside. Maybe if we get a little closer we can try and find them?" She suggested and the group nodded to which she smiled before trotting ahead a bit.
The ninja followed close behind, but their movements were more careful than hers as anxiety seemed to spill out from them. She couldn't blame them after everything they had learned in the Junkyard and to be honest, she was quite nervous as well, but her heart felt a little lighter as she could still sense the people of New Ninjago City. Maybe they hadn't won the war yet, but they hadn't lost either! She thought happily before feeling a spike of fear from behind her and she was suddenly drawn back by Jay, just as cars fell on the place she had been standing in mere moments ago.
She turned to thank them but suddenly felt a wave of emotions from Jay as well as from the people around her, far more intense than she remembered them being. Ah, right. No crystals means more feelings...Oh well. She sighed, closing her eyes as she tried to ground herself a bit as someone climbed up to the top of the pile of cars she had nearly been crushed by and raised their fist."Outsiders must answer to the Postman!" A man yelled from atop the pile, causing a wave of excitement to travel through the crowd. She shook off the overwhelming feelings and slowly opened her eyes toward the person who was apparently in charge. There in the corner by the building stood the Postman she remembered meeting back when they had been trying to stop the Great Devourer! He's in charge now? Good for him! She watched him stand there silently for a moment with his arms crossed before slowly speaking.
"Return... to... sender!" The Postman proclaimed before lifting his huge spoon up into the air, eliciting loud cheers from the crowd and more waves of excitement, urging (Y/n) to cock her head to the side with her brows furrowed.
"What's happening?" (Y/n) asked Zane in a whisper, trying not to get overwhelmed by the warmth she felt from him as she did so.
"I...do not know." He answered honestly just as a familiar man rode to the front of the crowd on his wheelchair, frustration leaking out of him as he glared at the people he passed before smiling when he saw them.
"Ah, you finally made it! Don't mind the savages. Since the power went out, everyone here has grown a bit bored. Their imagination knows no bounds." He said as he glared at the people he rode by once more before finally stopping in front of (Y/n) with a smile, waves of satisfaction and relief spilling over her as he did so. "(Y/n), it's good to see you."
"It's good to see you too Cyrus. How've you been?" (Y/n) asked with a soft smile, feeling the curiosity of the group grow as she did so.
"Outside of being possessed by the Overlord, peachy! How's the new uniform working for you? I hope it's comfortable." Cyrus asked, uncertainty yet pride flowing around them as (Y/n) smiled happily.
