My Boyfriend's Brother - Chapter 7

Hailee's POV

It was Christmas day and everyone was excited to open their present. I gave my present to Kevin which was a wrist watch. They were all so happy with what they've got. Annie had the most number of presents and I actually find her reaction so adorable when she opened it one by one.
Kevin's phone rang and eventually he went outside to answer it. Minutes later he came back.
"Everyone, I'll be going to meet with my friends to hang out. I'll be back later." He said and kissed me then he left in a seconds. I don't feel comfortable now when he kissed me and where are his manners? He left during Christmas day.
Later on, after watching a family movie I felt sleepy so I excuse myself to take get some sleep upstairs.
When I woke up I checked my phone and I got a message from Brianna.
Brianna: We went to visit Theo's gradma, sorry we didn't wake you up but we'll be back in just an hour.

Hailee : That's okay. I'll see you all later.

I checked the time and I slept for 1 and a half hour so I went down the stairs now I am alone by myself in their huge house. Then suddenly the door opened it was Damian carrying a paper bag.

"Oh Hailee, I thought you were with them, I went to buy some personal stuff before they leave." Damian said.

"They didn't want to wake me up since I was sleeping peacfully upstairs , Brianna texted me."
I replied.

"Oh. Right." He answered. We stood there for a moment.

"Wait here." I said and I went upstairs.

Damian's POV

I thought Hailee was with my family to go to our grandma's. I didn't go with them since I got stuff to do. Now It was only us in our house. Hailee went upstairs. I placed the stuff that I just bought on the table and she came back carrying a small browned paper box.

Hailee's POV

I stood infront of Damian and I handed his gift.

"Merry Christmas Damian." I said as I handed him the box. He smiled at me then took the box from my hand.
" Thank you Hailee. " he grinned.
"Well, open it up." I said.

He ripped the cover off and smiled . I gave him a leather passport case that I simply bought at the village.
"Well, incase you were wondering why I gave you that, since you are a pilot you can use it if you like, you know." I explained to him.

"This is really useful. Thanks again for this." He answered.
"You actually forgot to open yours, it was still sitting under the Christmas Tree." He added and slightly laughed. I furrowed my eyebrows.
"But you already gave me one." I said.
"This one is different and it's for Christmas day." Damian said. I took the gift and sat at at the cushion and he also sat infront of me.
I tore the wrapper off and opened the box.
It was a coffee mug and it has a quote that says "Always find a reason to smile."

"That you so much Damian."I said and smiled at him.
"Do you remember the night you woke up from your sleep and you were looking for a hot coffee?" He asked.
"Yes. I was looking for a coffee and you gave me a tea." I joked and we both laughed.

" and do you remember when you hugged me when you were crying?" He continued and I nodded.

"I gave you that because if you ever feel cold and sad, just use the mug and it will give you comfort. I don't like seeing you cry Hailee." Damian said looking into my eyes. I stopped at the moment and heart was beating fast. How I wish I could tell him how I truly feel about him. He slowly stood up and turned his back then walked.
I couldn't take it anymore .

"Damian?" I called him and I stood . He stopped and face me.
I don't know what's got into me but I immediately walked towards him and grabbed the collar of his jacket. I smashed my lips on his lips , I closed my eyes and lingered there for a second. He didn't kissed back as he was frozen. I was expecting to pish me away buy he didn't. I slowly pulled away and looked into his eyes.

"I love you Damian." I confessed and and he just stood there looking at me not knowing what to react. Tears started to form in my eyes.
"I'm sorry, but I do, I love you. The moment I met you I knew there was something and you gave me butterflies everytime you smiled and talk to me. I feel safe and secure when I'm with you that I haven't felt with anyone before. You make me smile by just your presence and doing nothing. I feel comfortable and I could be just me around you, even without getting my hair done or I wasn't wearing any make up and you respect me . I got jealous when you talk to another girl. I love you Damian." I explaind. He just stared at me in shock.

" i know this is not right, but ." I sighed and took a deep breath.
"Will you atleast say something?" I said as I scanned his face. Until finally,

"I.... I'm so sorry Hailee." Was all he said and left me. My heart shattered with his words. I knew it , he doesn't feel the same way. I went upstairs and sat at the edge of the bed and cried. I palmed my face. I was hurt with his words. I didn't know what to do . I just sat there and waited for Kevin. I want to leave once I talk Kevin and end things with him because this wasn't fair for the both of us.
