"Y/n!"

I groaned as I heard Aaron's muffled voice shouting for me, his fist banging against my door. I rubbed my hands on my face, grabbing a sweater from a counter in my bedroom, slipping it over my head as I slowly made my way down the stairs of my house.

"What do you want?" I grumbled as I unlocked my door, pulling it open to reveal Aaron and Eric, standing outside, looking at me with anticipation.
"We've been tracking a new group outside the walls, we want you to come today because we're going to try recruit them" Eric explained, making me sigh loudly,
"And you want me to come why?" I asked, glancing down at my watch: 6am, great. And I wanted to lie in today.

"We just want you to wait at the cars, protect them from anyone or anything that might try to break them" Aaron told me. I'm not exactly sure why he asked me to help recruit people, said it had something to do with me being able to tell between good and bad people, but I don't know.
"Give me 20 minutes" I suggested, looking back up at the boys,
"10."
"15?"
"Whatever, just be ready" The boys turned, leaving me alone in my thoughts for a second before I turned back, allowing the door to swing shut, crashing shut.

I could hear the water dispenser pouring hot water into my coffee cup as I walked down the stairs, pulling my jacket over my shoulders, pulling my short hair into a low ponytail, allowing two strands to hang down over my face.

Grabbing my coffee, I poured it into a travel cup, slipping it into my pocket as I bent down, tying the laces of my boots tightly, triple knotting it just to be sure, I've already made that mistake before.

Grabbing my keys from the counter I paused, feeling a presence behind me. Turning around I saw Jay, stood at the top of the stairs. He looked tired and his brown hair was all scruffy, he must've just woken up.

"Where are you going?" He questioned, slowly walking down the stairs to meet me,
"Out. Aaron wants me to help him for the day" I told him, causing him to nod,
"You going beyond the walls?" He asked, I'm not sure why but he doesn't like leaving Alexandria, not since we arrived anyway.
"Yeah, I don't know when we'll be back but save me dinner, okay?" He nodded as I took a front door key from a hook on the wall, holding all of our keys. I placed the key in the door, unlocking it before looking back at Jay, smiling at him as he turned back around,
"I'm going back to bed.." I heard him mutter as he slowly walked back up the stairs. I opened the door, stepping out into our garden, taking in a deep breath before making my way towards the weapons room, ready for my day at work.
