One week after the attack, students had finally been cleared to start going back to Jericho.

Enid was also now permitted to go back to living in her dorm.

All of Wednesday's attention went to the door when she heard it swing open but she didn't show it. Enid stepped in carefully. She was no longer covered in bandages and all of the bruises had completely healed.

"Hi Wednesday!" Enid waved. Thing scrambled over to her feet. "Thing!" She picked him up. "Yes, I missed our manicure talks too! The nurse insisted I stay at the infirmary until my ears had completely healed!" She looked up at Wednesday. "I hope you didn't love me being gone too much."

Wednesday said nothing.

Enid just nodded and walked over to her bed. Thing hopped onto the blankets and suddenly pointed behind Enid. She turned to see Wednesday standing right in front of her. She wouldn't meet Enid's eyes.

"You've healed well." She said.

"Yeah?" Enid cocked her head to the side. Wednesday was silent for several moments. "Wens, are you-"

Wednesday sighed deeply and hung her head. Slowly, she raised her arms in a hugging gesture.

Enid felt like exploding with joy. "Really? Really?!" She bounced slightly. Wednesday gave her a slight glare. "Right, right. Not a big deal. Right."

Enid hesitantly gave Wednesday a hug. At first, it was awkward, but after a second, Enid couldn't hold it in any longer. She hugged as tight as she could, lifting Wednesday slightly.

Wednesday sort of enjoyed the crushing sensation and decided to reciprocate the hug.

They stood like that for all of eight seconds before Enid decided to stop, afraid Wednesday would be upset if they hugged any longer.

Wednesday, in reality, didn't mind it.

Enid was laying on her bed, swinging her legs over the edge. Wednesday was writing, completely focused. Enid would occasionally giggle at something on her phone but it no longer bothered Wednesday.

After a while, Enid stopped making annoying noises at her phone. She was completely silent. Wednesday stopped typing.

Then Enid gasped and shot upright. "OMG! Wednesday, have you seen the news?!"

"Why, yes, Enid. I just love social media." Wednesday responded, almost smiling.

Enid's ears drooped. "Right." She flopped back down. "Well, these six teenagers were just arrested for assault, harassment, breaking and entering, and attempted murder. Oh man, they look awful!"

"Really? How so?" Wednesday commented.

"Beat up. Bleeding. Limping. Yikes. The police are saying they caught them trying to break into Nevermore!" Enid gasped.

"I'm guessing the cops beat them up when they caught them?" Wednesday questioned.

Enid made a confused noise. "Yeah, somethings not adding up here." She thought for a minute. "Whatever. I'm just glad they were caught."

"Probably an anonymous tip."

"Oh?"

"Although those can be too often shaky and suspicious." Wednesday continued. "It is much easier to simply use your brain and track them down. If that fails, you could always turn to a more violent path and-"

"Uhm!" Enid cut her off. "You can spare me the gorey details!"

Wednesday paused. "Of course." She knew how uncomfortable it made Enid.

"Thank you!" Enid beamed.

"You're welcome." Wednesday said very softly.

"What was that?"

A jolt went through Wednesday's body. And not the good kind. Curse Enid's werewolf hearing.

"Nothing important. Just something about my novel."

Enid smirked and rolled over. "Ah, okay, Wens."
