Enid slowly pushed through the howling wind and thick fog of snow, more determined than Wednesday had ever seen her.

Wednesday had to keep reminding herself that she didn't even want to be here. After she thought that, she'd also remind herself that she had volunteered to come along.

She hated when she was indecisive. Especially about her own thoughts and feelings. Why couldn't everything just be straight and neat and orderly?

"Enid, are you sure this is correct?" Wednesday yelled into the howling towards the shape of Enid in front of her.

"Absolutely! A werewolf nose is never wrong!" Enid exclaimed proudly.

Wednesday stopped and briefly glanced behind her, contemplating turning back and leaving Enid to fight the snowstorm herself. She suddenly got flashbacks to the Gates' Mansion and shook those thoughts away.

She would never admit to being secretly terrified of breaking Enid's trust like that again.

She hurried after Enid's shape as she rounded a corner and entered a small dark cave. It was barely big enough for them to stand.

Wednesday produced a flashlight from her pocket. "Enid, what is so important that-" She stopped when she turned the flashlight on.

Enid was kneeling and gently reaching towards a small lump of stark white fur. Upon closer inspection, Wednesday saw that it was alive.

It was a kitten.

There was stunned silence for a while.

"No." Wednesday said firmly.

"What?! Aw, come on, Wens!" Enid was now holding the feline. Wednesday just glared. "Please?! Just for a few nights? He'll die if we don't!" Enid was giving Wednesday what many considered "puppy dog eyes".

It made Wednesday nauseous. But in a good way. God, she was really dying, wasn't she?

"FINE!" She snapped.

"LET'S GOOOOOO!" Enid sang, lifting the kitten above her head.

* * *

Enid sat on her bed, playing with the kitten with a string. Thing sat a safe distance away, watching curiously. Wednesday was also watching, but she wasn't sure why she was so entranced.

"I think I'll call him Bingo." Enid thought aloud. She turned to Wednesday and Wednesday whipped around back to her desk.

"The cat is far too sophisticated to be called a children's game." Wednesday said plainly.

Enid's ears drooped. "Well, do you have a suggestion, oh wise one?"

Wednesday was silent for a while and Enid sighed, thinking she wouldn't respond.

"Lucifer." Wednesday commented.

"Absolutely not." Enid snapped.
