End of lunchtime.
"Ugh, this food never gets better as the years go on" Caleb shoved his tray away from him. "Neither does the people....!" Tori sniggered. "Ey oh!" Toby held his hand up and Tori high fived him. "Really?" Spencer laughed turning to Toby. "This guy...this guy gets it" Tori pointed.
"Can we swap english classes?" Hanna asked turning to Tori. "Why?" She asked as she eat an apple. "Because, I have Ms Delahunt. She hates me!" Hanna whined. "Sorry chika...I'd prefer to keep Mr Fitzgerald" Tori smiled. "What?! You have him for homeroom and english?!" Spencer asked. "Yep!" Tori grinned. "What is it with the girls and this teacher?" Caleb shook his head. "I dont know..ask them" Tori turned to him.
"Because how can you not like him...hes fit...hes talented...hes...." Hanna stopped when she realised Caleb was staring at her. "Well, he aint my type." Tori sighed. "When the girls are getting their papers wet from drooling, that'll give me time to hand my paper into him!" Tori smiled as she threw the now eaten apple into a bin. "Ha, i dont think it'll be only the girls papers that'll be wet" Toby laughed. "Ew, Toby!" Spencer hit his arm. "Ha! See this dude gets it!" Tori told them again.
"So what will be moist in his class for you?" Caleb chuckled. "Apart from my saliva?" Tori asked and he laughed. "No seriously! He's good looking, but he aint my type." She told them as she packed up her books. "Who is your type?" Spencer asked. Tori looked at her. "We've had this discussion Spence" Hanna butted in. "Why am i not surpised?" Caleb turned to Toby. "Well we have. She isnt into hot guys..." Hanna shook her head. "I am...but to me their hot" Tori sighed. "They dont even have to be 'hot' i mean what is that expression? You touch him, and get burnt? No. I like decent guys, who are all round...."
"Full of tattoos?" Hanna butted in. "No!" Tori shook her head. "Well true..." Spencer nodded. "Spence!" Tori turned to her. "Im just saying...your taste is very different from ours" Spencer shrugged. "Just because i dont like muscular guys who...are tan, 'hot', tall dark and handsome dont mean im not into..." "Getting your freak on" Hanna giggled. "Uch, you two are annoying!" Tori told them as she laughed. "Yeah, we've turned into dickheads too" Hanna laughed.
"Piss off!" Tori kinda sung as she looked at Hanna. Just then the bell went and they all stood up along with the people in the canteen. "See you later" Caleb kissed Hanna as he headed in the opposite direction. "Does he still get out of english for computer studies?" Spencer asked. "No, he has to take english during his free periods" Hanna giggled deviously. Tori shook her head as she headed to the english corridor. "See you later" Tori told them as she walked into Mr Fitzgerald's class.
"Well hello again Tori" He smiled at her. "Hi Sir, nice to see you again" She smiled as she sat down two desks him from the front. Mr Fitzgerald nodded and chuckled a little as he began to write on the white board. People began to fill the class and Tori noticed a smile growing on her face as the people in the class actually werent too bad.
"Okay. Good afternoon everyone. Senior student body" Mr Fitzgerald smiled. "Right! So...this year for exams and finals you have to submit an essay about the subject we're doing. This year, I think it'll be good to get our poetry on board" He clapped his hands together. Soon the atmosphere in the class dropped, as well as Tori's face. What? Poetry?! No! Tori had a full year last year studying different words, grammer, punction and whatever you use for poetry. No, not this year again!
"Sir! I had to do that last year!" A girl perked up from the back. "I know, some of you who were in higher last year will know some of this stuff...." Mr Fitzgerald began. "Please sir, please dont let us go through this again!" Tori told him. A rest of the class agreed with the groans they let out. "Thank you Tori, but i think...." "Mr Fitz! Please!" A boy begged from the front. "Lets just...go through this shall we?" Mr Fitzgerald raised his eyebrows as he dug through papers.
He walked around the class handing out small booklets about poetry. "Oh, someone save me!" Tori spoke quietly to herself as she scanned the paper. "Now, i think this will be a good way to the start off...this year. Just to re kindle the past with this type of....subject. I think we could start a project, and possibly pair up or in groups of four at the most" Mr Fitzgerald began.
Tori began to zone out. This was awesome, her senior year in english. A good teacher, a good class but a shit project about a stupid subect that she studied about last year! Now Tori, liked writing a lot. She loved creative writing, and she picked an AP Creative Writing class with Mr Fitzgerald for fridays...but seriously she never had an interest for poetry. She just passed the exam last year. This year she could fail! What kind of passing mark is that to get into a creative writing course at college?!
"....so I think this will be a good way to start the class" Tori heard her teacher say. Yeah right. Poetry, to start of with is the most amazing thing ever in english. Letting her hand rest on her hand, Tori sighed looking at the paper and reading some of the stuff. "No way...." She whispered to herself. Reading the fact they need to get at least a B for the beginning pass mark! What?! The first time she wrote an essay last year, she just passed with a C minus!
It took her time to even pass with the B she got. The amount of studyng, late night, coffee cups...no. She could not go through this again. She had no plan B for college. She was wanting to get into a writing course, and she only had three colleges in mind. Looking up at Mr Fitzgerald, she watched as he smiled telling the class his ideas for the projects. He was a smart guy, and a talented teacher! But this...this was all he could come up with?!
"Sir....you were talking about writing your book! Cant we do something like that and not poetry?" Tori held her hand up. He looked at her and smiled. "Tori, did you pick writing?" He asked. Tori nodded as some people looked at her. "Yes, i picked AP Creative Writing...im waiting to hear back if i got in" She told him. He nodded and smiled at her. "Well Tori, I'm taking that class and if you get in...thats what we're doing. However this is english and we have to co-operate everyone in this class!" He told her.
Shaking her head, Tori then nodded. "Okay...." She gave in. This was going to be a shit year. Now she wished she'd swapped places with Hanna, maybe in that class someone could save her for the agonising pain she'd have to go through. Here's to senior year, shit poetry class, sleepless nights and more coffee than all starbucks combined. She was now worried her aniexty will start up when it comes to the finals.
"Okay guys so, we'll take a read of this and i'll...." Mr Fitzgerald was disturbed by a knock on the door. He sighed. "Come on in!" He shouted. The door opened and in walked the pefect escape. "Ms Delahunt says im in this class?" His voice spoke, a smirk growing on his face as he looked around the room. Mr Fitzgerald checked his register then nodded. "Yes, Michael...welcome. Take a seat" He held his hand up.
Walking up to a seat, two across and one down from Tori he smiled at her, before sitting down. Tori looked away from him to the front of the class. English was going to be the best year yet..she needed saving, but this wasnt the type of person for the job.
