1 week later.
Tori had been walking around school, and going to class with her head down. Not wanting to talk, or face anyway. She kept silent in class and just done her work. Handing it tests, worksheets and essays. Homework, and whatever else was given to her.
Keeping away from Michael, she didnt talk with the boys either. She kept quiet in history and didnt talk with Luke. She avoided Ashton and didnt speak with Calum. She played with her food at lunch, and sat in her next class during break time.
Sitting in the library during her free period, she scribbled on her notebook. She drew next to the stupid scribbles, she and Michael had done on the back of her book. Funny faces, foul mouth words. Swears, and tattoo designs. Lyrics from songs. She sighed as she avoided drawing over them. She sat with her earphones in and her music was blasting through her earphones.
A faint tap on her shoulder, made her look up and she watched as Caleb sat down beside her. Taking out her earphones, she smiled a little. "Ahh" He sighed before he smiled at her. "You okay?" He then asked. Tori nodded. "Why arent you in class?" She asked. "We got out early. Came to find you...wanted to know how you were" He nodded. "MmHmm" Tori sighed as she continued scribbling.
"No, your not" Caleb sighed. "Yeah, im fine" She lied. They looked up to the people whispering and noticed two boys and a girl looking at them both. Tori turned her head and sighed. "Oi, why dont you grow the fuck up?" Caleb asked them. They looked at him, before looking away and smiling a little.
"Leave it Caleb" Tori shook her head. "Your not speaking with Michael anymore?" He asked her. She looked at him and frowned. "No. I never was...properly" SHe sighed. "Nothing going on?" He asked. "Again...there never was" Tori shook her head. Caleb nodded a little before looking at her notebook. "The girls are worried...Toby...me..." He told her. "Dont, theres nothing to worry about" She sighed and shook her head.
"Well, Hanna said there a lot up with you. How your coming to school with mascara and waterline liner?" He asked, not getting makeup. It was true, her lazy makeup was only black liner on her waterline with mascara.
"Im fine...just, leave me?" She asked him. "Not till i know your okay. You can talk to me" He smiled. "Caleb, what do you want?" Tori sighed, looking at him. He looked at her and rolled her lips together. "Sorry...im sorry" Tori sat back and sighed, as she rubbed the back of her neck. "No, no...its fine. Its cool" Caleb smiled. "I get it" He nodded.
"No, you dont. But, its fine" Tori let out a quiet scoff as she looked at him. "Let those idiots, think whatever...we know the truth" He nudged her. "Yeah okay...thats easier said than done" Tori looked at her phone. "Ashton...was asking about you" Caleb told her. "Well...thats nice" SHe sighed and started scribbling again.
"I told him, you were...you." He shrugged. "Strong, and didnt give a fuck about haters" He then chuckled. "Awesome" Tori nodded. Caleb sighed and slid his chair out. "Okay well...I'll see you later okay. I might come round later" He told her. "Cool...." Tori then shrugged. Caleb stood up, and sighed before walking off.
Tori stuck her earphones in again. She was glad that they were off next week for exam practice. No more looking at the faces of liars and people judging her.
She looked at her phone again and looked at the time. She collected her bag and put it over her shoulder, before standing with her folder. She stuck her phone in the top pocket of her flannel and headed out down to her locker. Walking down the stairs slowly and carefully she still doodled on her notebook. Finishing lyrics, and writing new ones.
She got to the bottom corridor, and walked across the canteen to get to her locker. Walking down the corridor she turned and heade towards it. She opened it, and took out her history book, and another folder before closing it over. She smiled to herself as she juggled folders and books, before one fell then another....and another. "Shit!" She cursed and sighed.
Bending down, her bag hit the floor before another pair of hands collcted her folder and book. Looking up, she knew it wasnt Michael. Lifitng her head, an earphone fell from her ear and she locked eyes with Ashton. "You okay?" He smiled handing her the books. "Oh, yeah im fine. Thanks." She took them, but her fingers quivered from the weight of them.
"Here...let me" He took some books from her and smiled. "Where you headed?" He smiled. "My car" She nodded. "Going home?" He asked. "Yeah...my next class is a free period so...." She shrugged. "Your not waiting around for Mikey?" He asked her. "No" She then turned. "You two havent spoke in...a week or something" He told her. "I know. Just been busy and whatever" Tori shrugged and sighed.
"You glad to be off school for a while next week?" He asked and smiled. "Sure, better than being here" She sighed. "Yeah, sorry..." He apologised. "MmHmm, sorry for..nearly breaking your face" She smiled as they got outside. "Its cool, all forgotten" He smiled, his mouth twisting a little. His teeth on show. They got to Tori's car and she opened her door before putting her folders in. "Thanks" She smiled taking the rest from Ash. His hand brushing hers.
"How you doing Tori?" He asked her. His eyes focused on hers. "Uhm..." She leaned on her car door. "Not good" She nodded. "Not...good" She then admitted and smiled a little. "People suck" He nodded and sighed. "Yeah they do" Tori agreed. "You just have to remember that...you need to surround yourself with people who know the truth and love you" He smiled.
"Thanks Ash..." She sighed then laughed quietly. "WHat?" He chuckled. "Nothing. Its just...im glad we're cool" She then nodded. "Me too" He nodded and grinned at her. "Well, i better go" Tori sighed and nodded "Hey..." He smiled at her. Tori looked up at him and smiled a little. "Uh...my little brothers birthday is today. He's having a small get together with my family and people tomorrow night at the house. Barbeque, music, dancing...family making fun of each other. Some of his friends." He then chuckled.
"The guys may be coming, but also...Spencer and Hanna offered to come if you wanna join?" He smiled. Tori thought for a moment. "Its around 6...till whenever" He smiled. "It was my sisters idea...to invite friends" He then chuckled. Tori nodded then sighed. "Yeah...sure." Tori nodded, giving in. "Yeah?! Ashton grinned. "Sure...itll take my head away from...drama" She giggled a little. "Awesome! I'll uh..text you later or tomorrow" Ashton told her.
"Cool. See ya then" She then smiled before getting in her car. Ashton closed the door, and she started up the engine. "Oh...Happy birthday to your little bro" She nodded and smiled before driving off.
