S1 : Chapter Five

ELENA'S POV :

I'm at home watching a movie when I get a call from Stiles.

"Hey ?"

"Elena ?"

"What's going on ?" I ask.

"It's Scott. He didn't listen to me, he went to Derek to find out if he was the one who killed the driver." He explains.

"So, what ?"

"He told him that he needed to get back on the bus and use all his senses to remember."

I remember how it feels, it's terrifying to not know if you've killed someone and to go back and try to remember. And sometimes it's even more terrifying to remember. That's what happened to me when I was a newborn. Your whole body is only under the control of bloodlust.

"Okay, well, you'll let me know if it's him or not." I ask. "See you at school."

"No, wait !"

I sigh. "What ?"

"We need you to come and help us in case something happens or to coach him."

"Stiles, you remember the dead body in Derek's house ?"

"Uh, yeah, why ?"

"Before helping you" I interview him. "What I told you ?

"That it was the first time you helped us ?"

"And the last !" I exclaim.

"Please, we will never ask you for anything again." He begs me.

"Until the next time ?"

"Until the next time..."

Okay, I'm done...

"I'm coming."

"Yes ! Thanks !"

Few seconds later, I can see Stiles's jeep.

He looks surprised "Wow, you arrived very quickly."

Shit. Elena, find an excuse, quick. "I was just... walking around."

"In the middle of the night ?" Scott ask.

Okay, that was a lame excuse. "Well, what am I supposed to do ?" I avoid the subject.

"You come with me. And Stiles keep watch." Scott replies.

"How come I'm always the guy keeping watch ?" Stiles moans.

" 'Cause I have to go in the bus and you called Elena to help me."

"Okay, why's it starting to feel like you're Batman and I'm Robin ?" Stiles asks. "I don't want to be Robin all the time."

"Nobody is Batman and Robin any of the time."
