ELENA'S POV :

While we were sorting out the Boyd/Cora issue, Lydia found a body and Stiles made a discovery about the recent disappearances in Beacon Hills. Two bodies have already been found strangled, throats slit and skulls smashed. A girl disappeared last night. He thinks the police will find her in the same condition as the other two

"They're part of a series of murders," the sheriff's son explains. "All three were virgins. And they'll all have the same injuries. It's called triple death."

"So if these aren't random murders, what are they ?" Scott asks.

"Sacrifices," I whisper. "Some witches do them to prepare for dark magic rituals."

"Human sacrifices."

STILES' POV :

I drove Elena to my house so she could get the jacket she left behind yesterday when we were doing our research. So she takes it but as she turns back to my desk, she sees something.

"Why do you have girly jewelry," she asks me.

"Oh... it was for your birthday but since you never told us the date..."

"It was last week. I didn't tell you because... I celebrate it every 10 years now."

"Why ?"

"Because I don't see how my 899th birthday would be more important than the 634th or the 272nd."

"And I don't see how it would be less important," I counter. "So... would you at least let me give you the necklace ?"

She smiles. I take that as a yes and pick up the silver chain with a moon pendant on the end. She turns and lifts her long brown hair, allowing me to hang it on her.

"I read somewhere... that vampires were also called the « Children of the Night » so I thought..."

"He's beautiful," she smiled. "I love it."

We look into each other's eyes for a long time and I think it's now or never for me to start.

"Do you remember the match last year ?"

"Of course."

"Afterwards we kissed but we never talked about it again," I begin. "So, I don't know if it's because we wanted to avoid the subject or because we didn't find the time but... I'd like to know what it represented."

For a few seconds, she seems to be looking for the answer or the way to gently tell me that it was just in the heat of the moment and that nothing will ever happen between us.

"Close your eyes," she finally asks.

"What ?"

"Do you trust me ?"
