ELENA'S POV :

We are in gym class. Coach Finstock has booked us a climbing activity. We have to climb a wall in pairs. My turn comes and I start climbing alongside Stiles.

"So they know what it was ?" I ask him.

"No. Scott said he had a tail. But a werewolf doesn't have one so..."

Last night while we were at the station, Scott and Allison crossed paths with a strange creature that almost attacked them. There are dozens of different species, most of which I've never encountered myself in almost 9 centuries of existence. It's going to be complicated to find out what it is. While thinking, I continue climbing and pass him.

"Wait, were you slowing down for me ?" he says indignantly.

"If I wanted an answer I had to wait for you."

"Oh yeah, of course. I can go super fast if I want to."

"Well, go ahead, please. What are you waiting for ?"

He smiles at me and his eyes shine with a defiant air that makes him incredibly cute. Okay, maybe I'm going a little far here... He starts to go up faster than before but I pass him in less than two seconds and let myself slide down. He arrives a few seconds later.

"There's no point in challenging a vampire. He'll always win."

It's Erica's turn and a boy I don't know. After 3 meters, she stops and I feel the panic growing inside her. Well, I can't really feel it but her pulse and her jerky breathing are good indicators.

"Erica, are you okay," the coach asks her. "Are you scared ? Are you dizzy ? Is it vertigo ?"

"Vertigo is a dysfunction of the vestibular système of the-"

"The inner ear. Lydia, this is not the time to show off your knowledge."

"Coach, maybe it's not safe for her," Allison warns him. "You know she's epileptic."

"What ? Why didn't anyone warn me ? Listen, everything's fine. Just... just get kicked off from the wall. You're safe, there is a map to catch you. You can't hurt yourself. Come on."

After a moment of reflection, she finally lets go of her grip and slides down the rope before running away and crying.

Stiles got the keys to the rink so we could go out 'as a pack' to take our minds off things.

"I'll pick you up around 7 p.m.," Stiles warns us. "And the four of us go out to the rink."

"Five."

"No, four," he insists.

"Five."

"Scott, Allison, you and me. That makes four !"
