ELENA'S POV :

"Hey, Elena ?" I turn to the one calling me. Stiles. "Did you manage to get a ticket for the rave ?"

Scott found out that Jackson had bought a ticket to the party. We think his master will be there to supervise as well.

"Yeah, I have it, and you ?"

"No, they don't sell any more. How did you manage to find one ?"

I raise an eyebrow, finding it odd that he'd ask me that question.

"Oh, yeah, of course. Hypnosis," he understands. "Can't you get us two more ?"

"Can't you just manage this once ? I have to go home now. So get those tickets before we go see Deaton. Or worst case scenario, I'll hypnotize someone in the line.

I'm starving and there's too much human blood around me.

The guys finally managed to get their tickets without me. Well, apparently Isaac got them for them.

"Ketamine ? That's not supposed to be for dogs," Scott asks.

"Yes, but for this one, the dosage is higher. If you can get close enough to Jackson, it should slow him down enough to buy you some time." He turns around and picks up a jar with black powder in it. "And this is some of what you will use to create the protective barrier."

"Ashwood," I whisper.

"This part is for you, Stiles. And only you."

The boy sways on his feet. "Uh... your thing is putting a little pressure on me. Can we maybe find this slightly less pressure filled task for me ?"

"It's a protection against supernatural forces, so no," I protest.

"It's from the mountain ash tree. Which is believed by many cultures to protect against the supernatural. Sofas is lined with Ashwood making it difficult for someone like Scott or Elena to cause me any trouble."

"Okay so... what's the plan ?" Stiles asks. "I just spread this around the whole building and then the Jackson or whoever's controls him can't cross the line ?"

"Yes, they'll be trapped."

"And us with them," I whisper.

This plan contains risks but it's the best we have. However, the hyperactive still doesn't seem excited.

"It's often simpler than you think," the vet reassures him. "Think of it like gunpowder. It's just powder until a spark ignites. You need to be that spark, Stiles."

"If you mean light myself on fire, I don't think I'm up for that."

"Let me try a different analogy," he continues. "I used to golf. I learned that the best golfers never swing before first imagining where they want to ball to go. They see it in their mind and their mind takes over. It can be pretty extraordinary with the force of your own will can accomplish."
