ELENA'S POV :

Scott and Stiles came to the house to try to find out more.

"Demons !" Stiles exclaims. "We risk being visited by demons !"

"I don't think they are real demons," I correct. "They're more like evil spirits."

"Is that supposed to reassure us ?"

It's true that it's not much better. Stiles then explains to us what happened during the economics class. He had some kind of dream where people were talking to him in sign language.

"It's like our subconscious is trying to communicate with us," Scott remarks. "Through visions or... dreams."

"And if my subconscious is speaking to me in a language I don't understand, what do I do ?"

"Do you remember the movements they were making ?" I ask.

"Do you know sign language ?"

"A little."

He's showing me gestures that I can identify. "When is a door not a door ?"

"When it's ajar," the wolf cub answers.

"A riddle ? My subconscious wants to ask me a riddle," Stiles says indignantly.

"Maybe not. Maybe it wants to send you a message. It's possible that when you were underwater you... opened some kind of door in your mind that you didn't close."

"Is that possible ?"

"Honestly, I have no idea," I admit. "For a vampire, coming back from the dead is instinctive. We don't remember what happened on the other side so if there is a door, it's firmly closed. But you, you weren't dead, strictly speaking. You had a foot in both worlds. So I guess it's possible.

"And what are we supposed to do ?"

"Ask Deaton," I suggest. "After all, he warned us it was risky. Maybe he'll know how to fix it."

"Do you think it's possible ? That a door was left open in our minds," Scott ask his boss.

"Yes. You went from unconscious to superconscious, so it's entirely possible that a door was left ajar."

"And what can we do ?" Stiles ask.

"That's difficult to answer."

"You mean 'difficult' ? In the complicated sense or in the downright impossible sense," I ask worriedly.

"Or that we don't know how to fix it at all," Stiles quickly adds.

"I know one thing. Having an open door in your mind is not good. Each of you absolutely must close that door. As soon as possible."
