ELENA'S POV :

"Ladies and gentlemen. Come in."

This is definitely a vision of horror that Gerard Argent stands there, in front of the door, inviting us to come in and take a seat on the chairs arranged in front of the director's office. An office that now seems to be his. I didn't really want to come in, but, well... I have to.

"Scott McCall," Gerard begins. "I see that in general subjects there is progress to be made. On the other hand, in sports, I believe I understand that you have become the player to follow." He pauses and changes files. "Mr. Stilinski," he continues. "Great grades but very little to no extracurricular activities. Why don't you take up Lacrosse ?"

"Well, the truth is-"

"Elena Lightwood now. Second in your class and with what could be described as exemplary results."

If I were better in economics, I'm sure I'd surpass Lydia.

"Thanks, but... could I ask where the old principal went ?"

"Some parents complained about the security of this school," the hunter replies. "As a result, I was designated as a replacement." He pauses before turning to Scott to continue. "Aren't you the Scott who used to date my granddaughter, Allison ?"

"Um... we... we used to date but not anymore, it's over, our friend stammers. We don't see each other anymore. We don't do anything together anymore."

The wolf cub's heart rate has slightly accelerated at the same time as his speech rate, a clear sign of stress.

"Relax, Scott. You look like you're about to swallow cyanide to avoid torture," Mr. Argent says ironically.

"It was a tough separation."

"It's unfortunate, you seem very nice to me."

Of course. He wouldn't say the same thing if he knew what he was.

"Listen. I know I'm the principal but I don't want you to think of me as your enemy."

"And how then ?"

"That said, since it's my first day, I have a duty to support the teachers and so unfortunately, one of you is going to have to take the fall and stay in detention a little later."

We remain silent for a moment before turning to Stiles. Honestly, I feel a little sorry for him who, but seeing our looks, lets out a sigh before giving up. Since he's a hunter, I'm not going to risk hypnotizing the director. He probably knows that the Venus vein can protect you from vampire mind control.

I get a message from Allison telling me that I need to call her urgently.
