S3a : Chapter Twenty-four

ELENA'S POV :

My quiet second year at high school is ruined. Derek told us that a pack of Alphas, with an "s", is wandering around the area right now. They marked his door with their symbol and are holding Boyd and Erica.

At the same time, Allison and Lydia met a girl who made a mark on their arm. So the pack got together to discuss it.

"I don't see anything," Derek contradicts, looking at my two friends' wrists.

"You didn't even look carefully," Scott insists.

"How is a poor little blue going to tell us where Boyd and Erica are ?"

"It's the same sign on both their arms."

"You're thinking... of a symbol," I ask the cub.

He doesn't answer me, not knowing what it was himself. On the other hand, Derek sighs. "I don't see anything at all."

"They're trying to help us," Scott gets annoyed.

"I remind you that this one used me to resurrect my psychopathic uncle during his birthday party, thank you, and that one shot a good thirty arrows at me and my pack."

"Okay, let's relax a little," Stiles proclaims. "No one's dead, that's the main thing. There may have been a mutilation or two and a little massacre here and there but we're alive."

"My mother is dead," Allison asserts.

"It's your family's code that killed your mother, not me."

The verbal jousts fly again and I lean towards Stiles.
"Do you remember last year when I told you that sometimes you should learn to keep your mouth shut to avoid making the situation worse ?"

"Affirmative," he sighs. "Message received 5 out of 5."

Derek leaves but Scott catches up with him and I listen to their conversation.

"Give them a chance, they're on our side now."

"Really ? In that case you should maybe tell him what his mother planned to do that night."

Didn't he tell her that his mother tried to kill him? I understand better why she advocates celibacy now. She doesn't know that it was self-defense.

We are emptying dozens of bags of ice cubes into a large aluminum bathtub. Isaac, who had been sent by Derek to find Boyd and Erica, came back without remembering what happened. So we went to the clinic to try to put the Beta into a trance state.

"You will be partially transformed," Deaton explains, "which will allow us to access your subconscious."

"How slow must his heartbeat be," Scott asks.
