The Vampire of Beacon-Hills [ENGLISH VERSION]

S4 : Chapter Fifty-three

ELENA'S POV :

Scott, Lydia and Kira were used by the Calaveras to find out who kidnapped Derek. Indeed, it wasn't them but Kate, according to Scott, who is responsible for his disappearance. It seemed unlikely to me but thinking about it, Peter's scratch could have transformed her.

The hunters sent us a guide to take us to where she is probably hiding. La Iglesia. And this guide is none other than Braeden. Another one we thought was dead and who came back among the living.

We get back in the jeep in a much more serene atmosphere than on the way there. All the unnamed problems between Stiles and me are not resolved but it is already less tense. We follow Braeden through the desert explaining to Malia and Kira what happened before they arrived.

"She was a hunter from the Argent clan," I explain. "She's the one who set fire to the Hale house. She killed a whole pack of innocents."

"Some got away like Peter and Cora," Lydia adds.

"He's the one who bit Scott and killed Kate."

"At least that's what we thought," Stiles specifies.

"The hunters discovered that she was healing so they brought her back with them by swapping her body with another."

"When a hunter gets bitten, he has to end his life," I tell him.

"And that's what she staged to escape."

The car shakes us in all directions before suddenly stopping. And Braeden stops her motorcycle to ask us what's going on. According to her, we have to be there before dark. So Scott decided to go with her. Before they leave, Kira holds the strand back to tell him to be careful. She literally throws herself into his arms and they hug each other before the wolf pup leaves.

Stiles is still trying to fix the car as the sun has started to set in the sky.

"We could go on foot."

"Oh you should have never said that," I whisper to my redheaded friend.

"I would never abandon my jeep, understand? Never," Stiles exclaims. "I'm going to fix it."

He goes back to work as Malia looks around strangely. "Or maybe I'm the one who feels watched."

"There's something lurking around us," she says.

Apparently, it was both.

The sun sets and the night begins to engulf us. We turn on the flashlight to illuminate the jeep that Stiles is still attacking. Only the headlights of the car illuminate the surroundings. Kira, Malia and I observe the horizon. The blonde finally spots something and unleashes her claws and fangs while roaring before chasing it.
