ELENA'S POV :

Melissa took Stiles in charge and took us to a room.

"Describe to me exactly what's happening to you."

He looks at me for a second which makes me get up.
"I can go out if you prefer."

"No. No please, stay."

I nod and sit back down on the chair facing the bed on which Stiles is sitting. After making sure I wasn't planning on leaving, he turns to Scott's mother and begins listing his symptoms.

"I have blackouts but not for that long and... I have sleepwalking which I used to do a lot as a kid. Um... I also having some really bad anxiety."

"Panic attacks," Melissa asks.

"Yeah a couple... Oh and I temporarily lost the ability to read but that might have more to do with this giant magic tree and the whole human sacrifice thing."

"I recall something vaguely about that yes. How many hours of sleep are you getting ?"

"Eight," Stiles answers.

"A night ?"

"The last three days," he corrects.

I watch my boyfriend count on his fingers to check that what he's saying is correct. I feel horribly useless and powerless.

"Been felling irritable ?" Scott's mother continues.

"Yeah. Possibly to the point of being... capable of committing murder."

"Inability to focus ?"

"No my treatment isn't working."

"Impulsive behavior ?"

"I don't know," he mutters.

I think back to the fact that he didn't want anyone near Kira and then changed his mind radically by helping her with Scott that same night.

"A little," I answer.

"Do you have dreams during the day ?"

"Basically all the above at the same time." Stiles sighs. "Do you know what this is ?"

"Yes, I think so."

"And what's that ?"

"Do you trust me ?" She asks him calmly.

"When you're not holding a needle."

She smiles and beckons me closer. "It's a sedative. You are one profoundly sleep-deprived young man. You need to sleep, Stiles." She injects him with the product and helps him lie down.

"Okay and... how long does it take ?" the snout asks.
His eyes are already starting to flutter, lacking sleep.
"Not long apparently."

Melissa puts a blanket on him as he searches for my hand. I take it from him and lean towards him.
