chapter 1: The Wait

It was a warm. Breezy fall day, the wind blew in her direction sending chills down her spine. She had her long brown hair in a high ponytail, she wore a purple sweater with black leggings, and to tie the outfit all together she had on fuzzy boots.

If she had known it was gonna be this long of a wait, she would have bought that coffee from Starbucks after all. Ten minutes later, this boy, making me wait out here in the middle of the park looking like a complete idiot, I start walking away. Until I here a..

"Heyyyyy!!!" He says out of breath "sorry I'm late, I had a problem to deal with" even out of breath he still never fails to make me smile

I cross my arms across my chest and reply with " It's fine, didn't have anything better to do anyway." I say with a shrug.

I stare at his clothes, nothing but black as expected except for his shoes which are always red. His favorite pair of Jordans, he never wears any other shoes except for these. It's a bit weird but understandable considering they were that last things from his grandpa before he died.

I looked up at his eyes, catching a glimpse of his coal-colored hair and a shine coming from his silver nose ring. He was cute and I was falling for him, hard.

" You like what you see?" He says on a cocky tone and a sly grin

"Nope" I say defending my curious eyes

I haven't told him I liked him yet for a very good reason. I'm in a relationship and so is he. My boyfriend, tucker is a full blown cowboy, he has a farm with any animal. For example goats, pigs, and cows. He's the sweetest ever but he's too touchy and obsessed with me. It's kinda creepy, honestly.

Lucas, the boy I'm staring at right now,  doesn't get along with my boyfriend, in fact he hates his guts. Although I never understood why. I do admit tucker is the complete opposite of Lucas and because of it they fight quiet a lot, like all the time. It's so stupid, I'm always the one who has to break them up.

Then after the fight stops they just glare at each other as we eat lunch or go home because we all live in the same town. Tucker says that Lucas only stinks around because he likes me and I find that hard to believe considering he has a girlfriend. Her name is Abby and she is so beautiful.

She has short black hair all the way to her shoulders and it's dyed purple on the sides. She seems really nice and well sometimes she does speak her mind a lot, actually more like she criticizes everything and everyone. So anyway there is no way Lucas could like me because he is in a happy relationship and doesn't stop talking about her to the point where I want to pull my hair out.

"So how are you and numbskull?" Lucas asks while laying on my shoulder, he does it a lot

"We are doing great, I'm going to his house again this weekend" I say with a smile

" That's cool, what are you guys planning on doing?" He says while looking at his hands

"We will probably do what we always do" I say

"And that is?" He says intrigued

"Makeout and watch movies" I say all in one breath

" Whatever" he says with a pissed off expression

" You asked, I know whenever I tell you something like that, you always shut down and get mad" I say annoyed

"Well, I wish I didn't ask, alright" he says almost shouting

We sat on the swings, just letting the wind sing it's song for what seemed like hours which was really ten minutes.

"Well, what about you, are you and Abby gonna do anything this weekend?" I say with curiosity

"No, she's busy" he says irritated. I grab his hand for comfort because lately Abby's been busy a lot and it's getting to him.

"Do you want me to cancel with Tucker and hangout with you instead?" I ask

He smiles, "could you?? I'm so bored of being on my own, it's starting to get really depressing" he says with a big grin

" Sure anything for my best friend" I say whipping out my phone. I text tucker about the change of plans.

Could we possibly reschedule hanging out this weekend because Lucas needs me this weekend?

I put my phone back in my bag and turn towards Lucas.

"We're all set" I say with a smile

"Yayyyy!!" "It's gonna be just you and me, just like old times" he says with a grin

"Yeah, also it's you and I" I say correcting him

" Whatever, same thing miss grammar police" he says while giving me a playful punch in the arm

"Owwww, it hurts so much" I say sarcastically

"Oh whatever you big baby" he says while laughing uncontrollably
