Okay. I have to say this. I will be continuing to write this fic, even while (the real person) Technoblade passed away. If you are not okay with that, stop reading. I think it's a good way to remember him, he liked fan content :,) But if you were wondering why this chapter took so ridiculously long, that is only part of the story, but I can't really get into it now.

Shawny shook his head. He couldn't believe he was doing this. Over his shoulder, he could see the walls of the village slowly fading into Minecraft's fog as he headed towards the source. In his hands was a map (hand drawn by the very best cartographer that they had), but not having the little white arrow made it a little hard to tell where he was going. He slipped a hand through his inventory, flicking through his items to see if he had the provisions for the long journey ahead of him. (Which, as he had expected, he did.)

His foot crushed a blade of grass as he watched and he felt a seed pop into a free slot, but he had room for it, so he let it stay. Sighing, Shawny picked up his pace. He had no doubt that he would be able to catch up with Crafter and the gang soon (there was only one of him, and at least four that he'd gotten the names of in their party), but he had unfortunately chosen a pretty late time to leave. (And making a base wasn't exactly first on his list of things to do at the moment.)

He swung his enchanted iron sword into his hand, a clump of redstone clutched comfortingly in the other as he began to jog. He knew that he couldn't run forever, but maybe jogging wouldn't deplete his stamina quite as fast. (That quick check through his inventory had told him that he hadn't brung as much food as he had intended to.)

But even without running he was going quite fast, as on either side of him the mountains were beginning to rise. He knew that he was going to have to be on edge now, as the soft sounds of a young creeper creeked up from a cave opening, but that was okay. He wasn't exactly the best at pvp (because that's what fighting a monster when you were actually in the game was), but the enchants on his sword were definitely going to help him. Besides, he'd even managed to get his hands on a couple of end crystals, and even though he'd have to be very careful with them, he was glad that they were the warm comfort that they were.

He passed by another cave opening, and noticed out of the corner of his eye that there were a couple of skeletons milling about in the entrance. They couldn't walk out to get him right now (the sun was still in the sky), but he hurried past anyway. If their dead eyes spotted him he would have a lot more to worry about than just not bringing a lot of bread. (Their aim was much better when you were a character in the game.)

As he made his way through the ravine, rushing somehow even more than he had before, he checked his map. It was at a very large scale, and the bounce of his jogging made it even harder to check where he was on it. (But the mountains were a large enough landmark that he didn't have to guess very much.) He could see, based on the skeleton cave that he had passed, that he was thankfully almost done with the ravine. That did unfortunately mean that he was going to have to start climbing soon, but taking the shortcut was worth it.

It was a newly discovered shortcut to the source, and the villagers had told him that Crafter hadn't taken it (he was more comfortable with his normal path), so as long as Shawny hurried, he would be able to catch up with them. As he dug his fingers into the rough gray stones, his legs began to ache, so he distracted himself with thoughts of what he would do when reached Gameknight.

He imagined drawing him into his arms and giving him a big hug. He imagined telling him that if he was still up for that Saturday morning Minecraft session he was ready for it. He imagined Gameknight laughing with him as the two of them made their way back home. He imagined-
