Smut chapter warning! It's fairly tame and purely optional, so read on if you want.
The day had started like any other. Adalynn had gone to classes and amassed a group of young trainers that wanted to train with her during Battle Studies. She'd become quite popular in that class in particular. That evening, she met up with her boyfriend who had returned from his base, otherwise known as a Star Training Center among fellow students. They went out for dinner together, then went back to Giacomo's room to work on their music while spending quality time together. But Adalynn couldn't help but notice that Giacomo was keeping a bit more distance than he usually would, and he seemed to be more fidgety.
The girl watched him skeptically, sitting beside him on his bed as she usually did. "Hey, Momo?" He paused to meet her gaze, his finger lingering on the notes on his laptop's screen. "Is something the matter? You've been acting…different today."
"No," he answered nonchalantly, though a bit too swiftly. "Nothing's the matter. I guess I'm just tired. Had a lot of students at my base today." He simply grinned like he always did.
Adalynn wasn't buying that. He'd been tired before, and if anything, he was extra cuddly those days. He never put that much space between them. He hadn't even kissed her since they met up. So, the girl leaned toward him only to watch him lean away. The corners of her lips turned down.
"What are you not telling me? Did I do something to upset you? Do you…want me to leave?"
Giacomo gasped, quickly waving his hands in front of him in a panic. "No! It's not you! I swear, it has nothing to do with you!"
"Then what is it?" Giacomo shut his mouth, his eyes darting away from her. Adalynn huffed and closed his laptop, then stood and set it aside on the desk. "You know, sometimes my dragons get all stubborn and unresponsive like this, too." Standing over him, she hit her fist against her palm, making him flinch. "It just takes a little manhandling to get some answers out of them."
Giacomo started scooting back with alarm. "Addie, wait!"
Before he could protest further, she pounced on him like a hungry Lycanroc. The poor boy was on his back in an instant with Adalynn on top of him. His face was bright red as he stared up at her, realizing her hands were beside his head, trapping him under her.
"C'mon, Momo. I just wanna know what's up with you today." He squeezed his eyes shut to avoid her piercing gaze. "Giacomo! What's wrong with you?!" She sounded annoyed having to repeat herself.
"I can't get you out of my head!" he blurted out.
Adalynn blinked in confusion. "What?"
He turned his head to the side in shame. "I-I've been thinkin' of you…a-all day. It's drivin' me crazy… I can't focus on training or my music. I just…have the urge…to hold you and…k-kiss you…and…and…"
It was Adalynn's turn to blush, her eyes wide. "U-um, you know you can do those things, right? I like your hugs and kisses…"
"It's not just that, though. I've been havin' these thoughts…these fantasies." He finally locked eyes with her only to sigh in embarrassment. "Y-you wouldn't understand. Guy stuff and all."
Those implications sent a wave of heat rushing through the girl. "No, I get it," she replied a bit too hastily.
Giacomo quirked a brow. "You…do?"
Adalynn inhaled sharply, realizing she was about to admit something humiliating to him. "I…think of you sometimes, too…wh-when I'm alone."
She could actually hear him swallow in response. "Really? Anything, uh…particular about me?"
