TW: Drug Abuse

So remember when I promised Wanda I wouldn't hide away in my room because of Natasha? Well I didn't lie but I am hiding a bit.

It's a new day so I am doing my best to follow my new routine. I woke up early enough to do a workout on my own before anyone else decided to leave their rooms and again met up with Yelena in the kitchen to have a cup of coffee together. The two of us talked and just hung out for a bit before, once again, she remembered the growing cold cup of coffee next to her and took the mug down the stairs and presumably to Kate.

After making a quick breakfast I rushed to my room as soon as I heard shuffling from the elevator, almost dropping my eggs as I ran toward the stairwell. Once I finished up my breakfast, a shower was next on my list. Being the amazing engineer I am, my device on my side is equipped to withstand water, but my stitches on the other hand are questionable. It seems any small move is enough to irritate them, and who knows, water may be enough to cause them to rip open again. And to be honest, I am very much tired of being shirtless in front of the Avengers so I have been extra careful.

I know you're wondering, no I did not rip open my stitches again, but they were slightly bloody which was gross. Post getting clean I did what anyone would do in my situation, I snuck out of my own room and am currently in my safe place. Yup, you guessed it. I'm in my lab.

So like I was saying earlier, I promised Wanda I wouldn't hide away in my room because of Natasha, and I'm not, but she didn't say I couldn't hide away in my lab.

It's all about the details, people.

"Excuse me, y/n."

You poke your head from underneath the pile of scraps you are currently tinkering with, looking into the room as if Buddy was actually in there with you and not just projecting his consciousness over the interface that is installed in the room. "What's up, Buddy?"

"Wanda Maximoff is outside of the door, requesting to be let in."

"You can let her in!"

The door to your lab opens and Wanda walks in, wide-eyed, taking everything in. She scans the room and once her eyes land on you she gives you a sincere smile, gesturing toward something she is holding in her hand. You get up from your spot and wipe your hands on your shirt before making your way to her.

"I went to your room but clearly you weren't there. It took me about 15 minutes to find this room."

"Yeah I walked into a closet and a bathroom the first day I tried finding this place. Tony didn't really give me much of a tour when he dropped me off."

Your eyes fall down to the plate in her hand which gets Wanda's attention to go back to one of the reasons why she came to find you. She extends the plate toward you and gets you to take it from her. "When I went to your room a slightly startling robot ball answered your door, and after getting over the initial shock of him, he let me know you were up here and made a comment about you not eating lunch."

"That's Buddy, he is an AI I made. He is also in this room right now. Say 'hi', Buddy!"

A screen lights up and Buddy's little digital face pops up on the screen. "Hello again, Ms. Maximoff." Wanda mumbles a hi, unsure if she should actually respond to him or not.

"He is like FRIDAY, but just more fun and a bit smarter, don't tell Tony I said that." Wanda lets out a giggle at the genuine look of concern on your face. "Buddy can expand on the knowledge he learns and it allows him to be intuitive instead of just being statistical. Makes him more flexible and creative. Plus he has the ability to actually understand human emotion, which means he is a fun time to talk to."
