~A Few Days After Prom~

I woke up and checked my phone. Only 3 days until the end of the week. 3 days until we finish high school! I was glad to leave but I would miss it. Seeing everyone everyday. People who i was in lessons with, laughing and joking about. You know....all you stuff you do in high school. Looking back its not been the smoothest of journeys but it's been alright. I rubbed my eyes. I could smell pancakes. Pancakes on a school morning? Not the usual thing for my mum to do. I walked down stairs yawning and sat down at the table. A big plate of pancakes in the middle. I put two on my plate and began to eat them.

"Morning." My dad said also grabbing some pancakes.

"Hey." I smiled.

"Have you thought more about this job? I talked to your uncle and he said you can fly out in 3 weeks and spend the rest of the summer getting used to America before starting work." He said before putting some of his pancake in his mouth. I froze. I can't believe I'd been so stupid. I didn't think of it properly, i just said yes. I'd have to move to America. Away from my friends, mum and dad.....Louis.

"I-I er- I'm.." I began. Thinking about it I really didn't want to go anymore. "I'm not s-sure if i want to do it..." I began. My dad frowned putting his knife and fork down. "When i talked to you, i didn't think about it. There is no job that will make me want to move away from you, mum, my friends.." I began. I know he likes Louis but if he thinks its because of a boy, i don't want to move, he'll make me go.

"But your uncle thinks your going. Think of the work. It'll be ideal for you! Its in America, you've always wanted to go. You don't have to leave your friends behind though.....text them, skype them, call them. You'll make new friends too. You'll have your cousin, Josh and Auntie Sue and Uncle Pete." He said persuading.

"Can I think about it? Tell Josh and Uncle Pete I'm sorry." I said standing up from the table and waking back up to my room. I threw myself on my bed. What am I going to do. I stayed there for a bit before feeling my phone buzz next to me. I read the message.

From Jen:

Be at yours in 10 :) xx

UGHHH!!! I checked the time. Jen was perfectly on time. I was late. I quickly replied to Jen with a 'okay' before running into to my wardrobe grabbing a floral top and some turned up jeans and quickly putting them on. I went into the bathroom brushed my teeth and put my hair up into a big bun on my head, since I didn't have time to do anything else. I heard the doorbell ring. I knew my mum would answer it and send Jen up here. I opened my bedroom door. She smiled at me.

"3 minutes." I said before running back into the bathroom. I put on some light makeup before grabbing my bag and heading out the door. We walked to school, quicker than usual as we got there 5 minutes earlier.

"Jen" I began.

"Yeah?" She looked over to me as we walked in the school gate.

"Well, erm, i.." I stuttered.

"Just tell me, whats the matter?" She said realising I was nervous, she pulled me inside school and over to one side of the corridor.

"Erm, basically. My uncle has got a an apprenticeship for me, for a company that does CD artwork, posters, stuff like that-" I began.

"Wow! That's amazing you'll be great at that!" She squealed she was really excited for me. She suddenly stopped realising the look on my face.

"W-whats the matter? Its good isn't it?" She said puzzled.

"Yeah, it's great and all that but I'll have to move to America, leave you, Katie, the boys, Louis.." I said fading out. Not really sure on what to say next.
