Fleetway's Torment

A Chance

(Scourge Pov:) 'Hey I'm just glad you were there for me back then!'
'Well I couldn't just let you be all depressed over your dad's death, Scourge'
'Yea... thanks' I hug Manic lightly and pat his head but I notice someone coming towards us... you are kidding me! Its that jackal again!

I stand infront of Manic and look and keep looking at the incoming jackal for any sign for what they will do.

'Relax, I'm not here to fight. I'm an Officer not a Criminal'
'Alright well 'Officer', why you here? And why you talking to us?' I swear if this is some trick...I'll protect Manic

(Zero Pov:) This hedgehog is being a pain as usual but from the way he has that hedgehog, his boyfriend I assume, behind him like that.. I assume this just his protectiveness

'I am here to ask a question' I take a seat at the table where they were seated before, they still stand
'Scourge, have you seen anything of your brother recently?'
'What?'

(Scourge Pov:) Why does he care about Fleetway? Is this some joke to him?
'No...I've searched for him since he went missing..6 months...and I found nothing and..I wasn't here for you Manic' I turn to look at Manic

(Manic Pov:) Scourge..
'Scourge don't blame yourself for this. I shouldn't have done what I did anyway in the chance it did kill me because...then I wouldn't see you again' I say as I look at Scourge and pat his back 'Don't blame yourself for  what I did..'

'Well I will-' I give Scourge an expression that he is used to seeing when I want something my way 'But I know that will upset you if I do so...I won't' Hehehe. We both laugh 

(Zero Pov:) I watch the hedgehog's conversation and well..while I have better things to do be doing.. 6 months apart when they were in love.. I'm not that surprised they are doing this

'Well..Miss Rose had seemed to think or say that she was met by Fleetway and Sonic yesterday' I watch Scourge's face drop a bit

'She was probably hallucinating..she did kill her friend after all, if I did that WHICH I DIDN'T, I think I'd hallucinate as well' Hmm...he has a fair point...
My radio buzzes and I pick it up from my belt
'Zero here'
'Its Rookie, she had nothing at her house that she could hallucinate from like no drugs or anything either. You still talking to Scourge?'
'Yes. Talk to you when its over'
'Okay'

I turn off the radio and place it back on my belt
'I've just been informed that there is nothing found at her home that she could  of hallucinated from.'
'Still doesn't change the fact that she could of hallucinated due to a mental problem'

(Scourge Pov:) Manic sighed at my last statement but I can tell he is still happy. I wonder if...

'Zero was it?'
'Officer to you-'
'So zero I may have an idea to see if she was telling the truth but it is just an idea'
'I'm listening'
'So the other day, on my last search for Fleetway I saw this guy that kind of like Sonic or..what he become but they weren't the same. They were called Lord X-'

As I say Lord X, a red portal forms which he steps out of. Manic hides behind me and I hold his hand. Zero places his hand over his pistol.

'Yes?'
'O-oh.. I was just talking about you...you found Fleetway and that monster yet?'
'Unfortunately no, perhaps if I saw them then I'd know. I could even just look in a memory of another to see them-'
'Look in a memory?' I have an idea
'Yes that is what I said'

I look at Zero who seems to understand my idea and then at Manic who is still a bit intimidated by Lord X's looks. I lightly pat his head

'Manic, he isn't going to hurt you'
'He is right, I will not' Manic relaxes a little and moves away from my back and stands beside me

'So Lord X, could you look in someone's memories for us?'
'Yes, whom?'
'Amy Rose' We both stare at each other for a few moments before Lord X says
'I need to know what they look like, do you expect me to know everyone by name or something?'

I sigh at my expectation, Manic shows X a newspaper with Amy's face on it.
'Ah alright'
'We were gonna  ask if-'
After a flash of red light, Amy appears and is held up in the air by something. Does X have telekinesis? (Yes)
'Oh ah..that works..so can you-'
'Look at her memories? Yes'

'Wait!' Manic calls out and we look at him 'Can you check if she is the one who killed Tails?' Zero shows X a tv with Tails' face on it.

'I will' Lord X is about to press his hand on Amy's head
'Sonic!? Is that you?'
'You're sorely mistaken' We then watch X's hand glow red as he presses it on her head.

(Nobody Pov:) Lord X begins looking through Amy's memories and he sees the moment that Fleetway and Exe went to her house and influenced her mind. He also sees two sets of memories, the first being the true events of her walking on Scourge with Tails' dead body and the other set being what Exe made of a fake memory of her killing Tails

Lord X ends the process and moves his hand away from Amy's head and this seems to knock her out so he sends her back to where she was with another red flash

'Well what did you see?' Scourge says full of curiosity but also hope.
'Well someone had influenced her mind to believe she killed the fox you know as Tails. I could see both versions of events and you were there' He points at Scourge
'Yeah I went to visit Tails and he was dead. Listen describe the one who altered her mind'

'Blue fur, bloody body..red eyes.  I believe they are the one you called Sonic and yes they were with a yellow hedgehog with red eyes'

'Fleetway?!' Scourge and Manic say with shock while Zero gives a concerned look
'I'd assume yes'

Scourge quickly gets an idea

'You know what he looks like now! Teleport to him and Sonic!'
'If it weren't for my mood then I wouldn't let you command me'

Lord X then vanishes after a bright red light

'Can we trust him?' Zero says
'So far, yes' Scourge replies
'Well...at least Fleetway will be back. That'll be great!' Manic says optimistically and Scourge smiles a little
'Yeah you're right'
