Torment

(Mephiles Pov:) I can't be near Silver, Scourge, Manic..anyone. All I feel is that I'm making a mistake. I just wanted to keep Silver safe... and yet I'm seen as a problem by Scourge.

Even just being in this home is reminding me of Silver. Of Infinite. Of...Fleetway and his situation. Fleetway is likely with Exe right at this moment. If anything its likely Exe had been pretending to be Infinite but how was I suppose to know that? Just because I have strength, doesn't make me all knowing...

I look at a picture of Silver and I. Looking at his gentle smile yet...it starts to shift into a frown? Am I hallucinating? I raise an eyebrow from confusion yet suddenly Silver from the picture starts to open his mouth.

'You really should listen to Scourge. You're a mess Mephiles. A monster and to think I ever saw you as more than that...' I force my eyes shut and try not to listen. 'Mephiles can you not do anything right? Nothing at all?'

This would be easier to ignore..if it wasn't Silver. But...

This isn't him. This is just my subconcious trying to hurt me. Though I wish he were here... really here.

I take a deep breath and walk downstairs and then walk out the door, glad to not hear the voice anymore... yet also missing Silver.

(Scourge Pov:) Way to go Scourge. You dumbass. Pushing away everyone. I pushed away Fleet by trying to get X to bring him back. I pushed away Manic when I left him and now I'm pushing away Mephiles...

'You're an awful person Scourge.' I hear a voice say. I look in that direction and see a red wolf yet they are moving as if they were a puppet on strings.

'What?'
'You are an awful, souless person,  Scourge.'
'You don't know shit about me.' They move closer to me yet they aren't touching the ground. 'I know all about you. I also know how you talked to Mephiles. He made a mistake and you dropped the world on him.'
'Shut up.' I say with a huff as I walk off.

I hear a laugh from them and I turn around with a pissed off expression.
'Fuck off!'
'Oh have I touched a nerve?'
'I'll show you touching a fucking nerve!' I run right at them and punch them in the skull. They don't touch the ground but they move backwards a bit.

'Scourge. Always pushing others away.... you tried convincing the jackal to follow you. See how that went?'
'Just Fu-'
'Silver, that annoying innocent hedgehog... got what was coming to him. It was deserv-'

Not even giving them a second, I tackle them and punch them again and again at full strength. I punch for at least a minute untill I hear someone shout my name.

'Scourge!' Its...Infinite's voice. I look at him and I finally take a moment to think. Is what he told me haunting me? The wolf?

I look at my glove, definetly covered in some blood. I get off the wolf and keep looking at Infinite. His expression is entirely of horror yet I can smell alcohol on him. Is he drunk?

Infinite picks up the wolf. Only now I consider... this wolf could have- was Infinite's friend. My rage just didn't let me see. The wolf is covered in bruises and his face is swolen.

'Scourge..why did you do this?' I don't want a lesson off him too. 'He...was talking to me... like he knew my mistakes. He said I was pushing everyone away. Even you..'
'That isn't the Rook I know....If I'm not hallucinating...'
'I wandered the same...'

I think of moving my hand to Infinite's shoulder but choose not to.

'How did you find...well, us?'
'The ruby showed me a projection or copy of Rook. It brought me here. Where I found you attacking him...'

Thinking of what I've done, I look at Infinite with regret in my eyes.

'I'm sorry Infi-'
'Don't be. He is alive and you have showed him to me. I am thankful for that.' Is it the alcohol or.. is he smiling?

'The ruby..is telling me that his mind has been altered. Last time that we were together, it wasn't like this.'
'The ruby has been telling you all this?'
'Yes. You do know that its alive, right?'
'...No...'

I almost hear  a chuckle from him. He starts to walk off so I decide to follow him but he seems fine with this.

'So did the ruby tell you about where I first found it?'
'Don't you mean who you stole it from?'
'It did.' I hear another laugh from Infinite.

Maybe..there is a chance that we can all...work things out. Infinite leads me to a home which after he opens, I step into. Inside, I see many different things. Some familiar, Some unfamiliar. Part of me wants to just grab my things and leg it but the other half needs to make sure Infinite is alright.

'Infinite...about before-'
'Its fine Scourge.'
'No. I... Should have went with you when you left-'
'Don't think you'd enjoy seeing me drinking my sins away.'
'I'd have joined in.'

Infinite places the wolf down on a chair and uses the phantom ruby to restrain him.

'Scourge you are... interesting you know that?'
'Thanks? I think that's a compliment?'
'Yes. It was meant to be one.'
'So what are you going to be doing now?'
'I'm waiting for him to wake up. You don't have to be here-'
'I know...but I want to. Think of me as backup if he attacks or, something.' Infinite has a small laugh.
'Very well.'

End

(At least Scourge and Zero/Infinite are still able to talk.)

(But yeah no. Exe you still being a pain. Damn you.)
