Fleetway's Torment

Lost Hope

(Mephiles Pov:) So.. the one who robbed the house also stole the ruby.. I must get it back. Somehow. Perhaps it may be in my best interest to tell the police about this. Maybe...Zero. 

I create a portal that leads me outside the police station and walk through it.  With a small sigh, I walk into the station and go towards a red wolf in police clothing who doesn't seem to be doing anything.

'Greetings, where is Zero?'
'Huh? ...Oh! He's in the next room, I can get him if you like-'
'Yes, get him , please'
'Alright' The wolf walks into the next room and walks out with the familiar jackal, Zero.

'Thank you' I say towards the wolf before I turn to look at Zero.
'We must talk about Scourge'
'Ugh, fine what is it?'
'What is with your dislike towards him?' Zero sighs and looks away.
'As I was saying...Scourge's home was robbed. Could you start a search for the perpetrator?'

Zero seems to have a mild look of panic before seeming to calm a bit.

'I can...what things have been stolen?' The red wolf from before starts writing something down.
'Chairs, his tv, art and a very rare gem.' Zero's lip tenses which I assume is from shock, he rubs his chest which I notice seems bigger. Is it muscle...or...fat? (Mephiles thinks the latter XD)

'That sounds priceless, we'll visit you when we find the stolen belongings'
'Thank you' I turn and as I am about to walk away, Zero calls out.
'If you are coming to me about this...then where is Scourge?'

'Scourge is...at that creature's dimension. We got there by using-'
'That other blue hedgehog?'
'Indeed, he took us there and we attempted to convince Fleetway to leave with us but as you can assume, he did not...then when Manic tried to convince him further...' I looked down at the floor.

'He killed him!?' Hmm..this is the angriest I have seen him get before.
'Well no but...he almost did. If not for my power then Manic would not have reached the hospital in time. Plus, I saved Silver from getting trapped there too but Scourge stayed and.. I assume he attacked Fleetway'
'Well wouldn't surprise me but...be ready for the chance he could be dead'

This jackal clearly underestimates Scourge's resourcefulness.

'I don't think so but...please do go to Silver, Manic or me if you find the one who did this.'
'I will. You can count on it' Zero gives a confident grin and I walk out of the station, as I leave I hear Zero and the wolf talking to each other but I am too far away to make out what they are saying.

Now I can tell Manic and Silver. I only hope Manic is not too mad about this..then again if I were in his situation...

I create a portal back to the hospital and sigh as they notice I am empty handed.

'What happened Mephy?' Silver walks over and gives me a light hug as he can tell that something is wrong.
'The house...has been robbed.' Both hedgehogs gasp from the news.
'W-what about the ruby?' Manic says to me in panic.
'Gone too...I have informed the police about this and they are currently looking for the perpetrator but as of now.. we have no way of getting to Scourge.'

'We could try that Lord X guy' Manic says and then pauses , expecting him to  appear but nothing happens.

'Er... Lord X?' Silver says in a confused manner.

(Meanwhile with Lord X. Nobody Pov:) X was grabbed by many Majin clones and the real Majin was standing infront of Lord X with an even wider smirk then usual.

'Majin, they need me-'
'Oh but I need you~'
'What?'
'You don't know how lonely it is when you aren't here. Sure I have my clones but you know how blank they are.'
'Well you could get out more, you have the power to-'
'Well you know how judgy some people can be'
'You've got a point there'
'Then its settled!'

Majin's clones release Lord X and Majin then hugs him tightly. X does not hug back but does pat Majin on the shoulder a little. (And yeah X likes the hug he just doesn't wanna say it)

'Alright fine.. I'll stay with you for a little while longer. '
'I'm glad I convinced you! Now we can have more fun! It will be endless!'

(Back with Mephiles and the others)

'Well...I hope that means he is helping Scourge.' Manic says optimistically.
'Yea...me too' Silver replies. Mephiles however is silent , thinking who could've done this.

'Manic, Silver, I will go and look for the perpetrator myself.'
'Don't be stupid Mephiles! They have the ruby with them! That thing is crazy strong-'
'Do you forget who you address?'
'That is a..fair point.'

As Mephiles is about to leave, Silver gives him a pat on the back.

'Promise me that if you need help, you'll call me.'
'I promise Silver.' Mephiles then creates a portal onto the highest buidling in the area, he steps through and it closes. He then perches near the edge of the roof and waits for the sight of criminals. (Mephiles is now Batman.)

(The red wolf is still Rook/Rookie by the way. )
