Fleetway's Torment

Protection

(Shadow Pov:) I keep Scourge behind me as I prepare for Exe's next move.

He glares at me as I watch him. I briefly think of the last time i'd seen Exe. It feels recent but I can't place my finger on it. I kick the thought away.

Exe goes for a highspeed slash which I duck under. He looks at me with rage as I headbutt him and then attack him with chaos spears up close.

Blood keeps shooting out of his mouth as the fight continues. Exe reaches for my leg and slams me down. I groan and hear a laugh from Exe as he walks closer to Scourge.

Scourge doesn't look like he can fight back. Exe is about to strike him when I tackle him and grab his jaw, pulling with all my strength. Exe screams as I tear out his jaw, the blood covering my gloves before I drop it swiftly on the ground.

'Y-you...' He's talking but it isn't the same as before. I see red energy around where his jaw had been. He'd been using Sonic's voice and with that gone now all he had was his true voice.

'Shadow...the hedgehog...' As he says my name, i'm forced off of the ground and slammed into a wall. Trying to focus on what had grabbed me, I look at my arms and see demonic looking hands pulling me against it.

I turn back to look at Exe, watching him slowly get up as he briefly looks at his jaw before coming up fully. He walks towards me and yet I can't feel any chaos energy within myself.

I try to chaos control.

Chaos blast.

Chaos dash.

But I can't do anything though just because he has the upper hand does not mean that I will beg for mercy.

'Your existence....has come to an end.' He raises a hand. 'Fool. You think you have true power? You're a coward-'

(Nobody Pov:)

'No...I am god.'
Exe's hand slashes down. Shadow's head comes clean off and the hands that were holding him, drop his corpse before vanishing.

'Now...where were we?' Exe turns around to face where he had last seen Scourge only to find he wasn't there. After internally screaming, he rushes to the entrance of the hospital.

(Scourge Pov:) Shadow saved me. I dunno how but he did. I don't even know if he is alive or not but i'm grateful.

I arrive at the entrance and spot Silver and Infinite holding up the hospital, Manic and Sunky huddled nearby and Mephiles and Fleetway attacking the shadows.

'G-guys...' I say before I pant and walk the remaining distance. 'Everyone... alright?'
'Yes, other than the irritating numbers of these shadows.' Mephiles say with a huff.
'They're called wraiths. Exe told me about them.' Fleet says while shooting some more.

Manic looks at my hand.
'Scourge! Are you bleeding?!'
'Not my blood, Man.'
'You still look hurt-'
'Well you know why.'

I get over to everyone.

'I got an idea. We can't help anyone else here, its a lost cause. So if you drop it-' I feel confident in my words because everyone else that i'd seen earlier were either gone or dead.

'S-Scourge, we'd be ..dropping the building on everyone else... pratically killing them-' Silver says before Infinite interrupts.
'Better to die like that than become a wraith.' Infinite looks over at Silver who has an upset expression. 'Sorry kid but it has to be done.'
'Y-yea...I kno.'

If this were a better time i'd give Silver a hug to try and raise his mood but I know that would be dumb here.

'We should chaos control!' Fleetway says in a way that suggests he only just got the idea.
'We could also use my teleportation-' Mephiles says before I interrupt him.
'Not to be rude but your teleports are kind of...shit.'

Mephiles rolls his eye before everyone moves closer, Silver and Infinite hovering closer.

After destroying another wraith and seeing a part of the building escape from Silver and Infinite's grip which almost hit Fleet, he runs closer.

'Everyone in!' Fleet places his hand out which I place my hand on, followed by Manic, and Mephiles. Infinite and Silver are the last to place their hands down.

(The reason they are doing it like this is so no one is left behind.)

Silver and Infinite have very strained looks on their faces.
'We need...to go...now.' Infinite says like he is out of breath.

Fleet concentrates. 'Chaos...Control!' I hear Silver deactivate his powers and the Phantom ruby no longer making any noises as we appear in Silver and Mephiles' home.

Silver, Infinite and I fall on one knee.
Manic and Sunky come over to support me, Mephiles supports Silver and Fleetway offers his hand to Infinite.

'Need any help?' Fleet asks.
'I'm...fine.'
'O-ok. You sure-'
'Yes.'
'A-alright.'

Fleet gets up and sits on one of the couches. He is holding his hands together and his eyes are fidgeting and can't focus on one spot.

I should talk to him.

After giving Sunky and Manic a hug, I walk over to the couch and sit next to Fleet.

'Can I talk to you, bro?'
'Sure...'
