Fleetway's Torment

Trust

(Nobody Pov:) Mephiles and Shadow have been in the house for 8 hours waiting for Fleetway to wake up.

Mephiles ended up making Shadow some hot chocolate which he enjoyed. As they are talking, Silver walks into the house.

'Ah Silver, are you alright?'
'Yeah just surprised that Fleetway is here...do you think he is safe?'
'I'm sure he will listen to you both.  Or if not you Silver, then Mephiles.'

Silver jumped from the sound of Shadow's familiar voice. He turns to look at Shadow and as tear drops from his eye, hugs Shadow who returns the hug to him.

While Mephiles enjoys seeing the two hedghogs happy, he walks back to the living room once he hears Fleetway starting to wake up. Shadow hears this too and abruptly ends his hug with Silver so that he can make a drink for Fleetway and Silver.

(Mephiles Pov:) As I get into the living room, Fleetway is rubbing his eyes slowly. I sit down on a chair by him and wait till he wants to say something.

(Fleetway Pov:) I..don't think what I saw was real. Exe is too strong to just die ..and I'd never live with myself if I knew he.. died because of me. But why am I here? Was...was Mephiles or Silver what was hugging me?

I look to my side and see Mephiles by my side, I can't help but smile at him.

'Hey Mephiles. It's good to see you again without that annoying-'
'He is in hospital...you just barely missed his heart-'
'Then maybe I need better aim next ti-' Mephiles puts his arms around me.

I feel the same warm feeling on my body like when I saw Exe's body... so that was Mephiles who hugged me...

'Fleetway...I am sorry for what he said to you but... please try to...' Mephiles is struggling to get his words out.

'You didn't want to be this before...you didn't want to hurt anyone and..I..don't want you to become something you don't want to be.' I...he's right I didn't really want to be who I was before and I'm not. I'm better than who I was and I only hurt those deserving.

'Mephiles...I'm not the same as what i was. Who I was.'
'But what is stopping you from going too far and killing someone?' Should I tell him...the truth? There is no point saying I haven't and...would he really care that I ended the fox?

'I killed Tails.' It feels surprisingly good to get that off my chest.
'You did?'
'Yeah....I was there when he made you and Silver feel like shit and called me and you monsters and insane people.'
'You were here and you heard that?'
'Mhm.'
'So you killed Tails because you wanted to...get back at him for what he said?'

That's about right. I nod my head.
'Well I forgive you and If I am honest...' Mephiles whispers to me 'I never really liked the fox and... I appreciate you ended him.'

I've always liked how genuine Mephiles could be. He's the best guy I know..other than Exe. (Simp)

I hug Mephiles tight and he hugs back as much as he can but the tightness of my hug is hard to get out of.

'Fleetway, I can barely breath...oof'
'Oh ah sorry Mephy hehehe.' I let Mephiles loose from the hug  and smile and he laughs softly.
'Its fine. I just enjoy spending time with you again and I'm sure Silver would too.' (oof, Shad not included)

Huh? Are they here? Mephiles leads me into the kitchen and I see Silver and Shadow. Silver seems both happy yet anxious that I am here. Shadow seems to be smiling which is odd as I'm use to his normal stoic face but I'm not against this.

'Silver!' I go towards him and attempt to hug him but he flinches and backs away. He is scared of me. Especially after what I did to Manic.

'Silver...I won't hurt you. What I did before to Manic...I was confused and defensive and...' I sigh 'I felt bad when I had been hard on Scourge and then he explained himself...but Manic started to argue with me and talk about Exe and...that happened. '

I don't want to lose a friend because of something I did in anger.

'Silver I..I promise you that I'd never hurt you. Never ever...' Tears start to drop from my eyes as I look at Silver untill he goes to me and hugs me tight and I hug him back. He starts to cry happy tears as he feels he can finally trust me again.

(Shadow Pov:) As much as this is nice, Zero...Infinite still needs to be found.

'I'm going to go search for Infinite.'
'Very well, be careful Shadow.' Mephiles says to me.

As I turn towards the door, Fleetway speaks up.

'Don't let that guy in your head. He got in my head and I..pictured Exe was dead.' He is better off dead. 'I hate to think what he'd show you.'
'He has used that attack on me before, though I apprecaiate your warning.'

Silver opens the door and hugs me and I lightly pat his back before he stops.

'Be careful, Shadow.'
'I will.'

I then walk out and shut the door.

(Mephiles Pov:) I spot the hot chocolate that Shadow was making for Silver and Fleetway and pass it to them.

'Here, have this.'
'Aw thanks Mephiles.' Silver says as he takes a sip of one of the hot chocolate. 
'Thank you, Mephy.' Fleetway says respectfully as he smiles and takes a cup.
