I am happy that my flower shop is coming together.
Napatigil ako nang tumunog ang telepono ko. "Amara speaking."
"Come to the restaurant."
Fits him.
I dropped by the apartment to shower briefly.
I used my bike to go to the restauant as usual. Pinapasok naman ako agad ng maitre d. I saw Chael on the phone. He signaled me that he needed a minute. Siyempre kasinungalingan iyon. It almost took him 30 minutes.
I had a closer look this time dahil sa baba kami. They are actually thriving in the Greenhouse. The eating area is situated some feet away from the plants kaya hindi talaga magagalaw iyon ng sadya.
I grew too engrossed with looking at the plants na hindi ko napansin na iyung one minute ni Chael ay naging 30 minutes na nga. When i looked at him, kabababa lang nito ng telepono. He signaled someone in the kitchen before facing me.
"What do you need me for?" Tanong ko rito.
"I have prepared the food for the Valentine's Ball. I want you to taste them so you can tell me now if it needs changing."
It's only 3 days before the ball. Everything was ready. We usually put the flowers during the morning of the event so they still look fresh by the time the event starts.
There was a long table where the food was being placed by his staff. The menu catered to all diets so that it will also be safe and inclusive.
I tasted the appetizers first. I nodded my head. "Magaling ang head chef mo ah." I just assumed that he did not cook the food because he was wearing a sweater and jeans not with his usual chef ensemble.
"I cooked that." He sounded offended.
It's good." Mas masarap sa halik mo. Weh. Talaga ba teh.
"For someone who doesn't cook, you being judgy will be too much don't you think?"
I know how things should taste like. I just don't know how to make them taste like that."
He chuckled. I gave him my middle finger.
We proceeded with the soups. I nodded after tasting each one. It's just so good. These soups are those that you'll crave during a rainy day.
When it was time for the entrees, I felt like a masterchef judge eating little of each dish. All have very beautiful presentations. On top of that, the taste is very delicious.
When desserts came, I took my time appreciating how cute they were. How can you eat this if it is this cute? In the end, I have to taste them.
"How was it? Do you think it still fits your theme?"
"I think it still fits. Like how I imagined." We'll start arranging tomorrow if they want to start the set up."
