CHAPTER 42

=== C H A E L ===

The wedding celebration felt like forever. I know I should enjoy every minute of it but I am looking forward to having my solo time with my wife.

"Bakit ganyan ka makatingin?"

I can see in her face how she is trying to look energetic but she was tired. I know we've abstained from doing the deed until our wedding night but I didn't have the heart to tire her more tonight.

"Let's rest for tonight. We have a long journey to our honeymoon destination."

"What time is our flight?"

"Tomorrow evening."

"I haven't packed yet."

"Let's pack tomorrow together hmm?"

She nodded before resting her head on the window. I was driving my car to my house since the wedding was inside the club.

Nang makarating sa bahay ay naka-idlip na nga ito. I carried her to the bedroom and she was so sleepy already.

"At least change into something comfortable baby."

Mabilis akong kumuha ng t-shirt ko bago ito dinaluhan. I fumbled for the zipper at the back and helped her get out of it.

"Hindi mo ako mapapakinabangan ngayong gabi." She said while pouting.

I kissed her forehead and laid her on the pillow. "Sleep tight baby. I love you."

"I love you."

I started to pack our things while she rested. Knowing her, she always have a checklist on hand. But na lang at may listahan ang asawa ko dahil madali kong naiayos ang mga gamit namin.

Habang kumukuha ako ng toiletries namin ay napatigil ako. I saw my box of condoms. Since we stopped having sex, I haven't used it. We always used protection everytime. We haven't talked if we will stop taking or using contraceptives. Dinala ko na lang din iyon kahit wala sa listahan ng asawa ko. I also brought a little surprise for her on our honeymoon.

At last, I was on our bed ready to sleep. She was already in deep slumber when I got under the blankets. Pinalitan ko ng katawan ko ang unan na kayakap nito. I closed my eyes while combing her hair.

Nang magising ako ay tulog pa rin ang asawa ko. I glanced at the clock and it's almost ten in the morning. We have to go because the chopper is booked on 12pm.

Marahan ko itong ginising at nag-panic pa nga nang magising ito. She just stopped when she saw our suitcases.

"Everything's packed?"

I nodded. "You had a list. I just followed it."

"Hmmm..."

"Don't trust me?"

"Chael, we're going to an island. Not a city. I just hope you really did a great job packing."

"Trust me. We just got married yesterday."

"Okay. Ligo na tayo baka ma-late na tayo."

"Yup go ahead. I'll take a shower after you."

She was looking at me suspiciously. "You don't want to join me?"

"Just take your sweet time my love." I buried my face on her pillow and inhaled her scent. I still feel sleepy. I just had 4 hours of sleep.

Tumuloy na lang din itong naligo at hindi na nagtanong pa. Sumunod naman ako nang matapos ito.

Our travel to Bora-Bora is a long one. We will have a flight to Incheon, Honolulu, and then to Papeete, French Polynesia. That's fucking 42 hours of travelling. We will stay there for a month para masulit namin ang biyahe.
