2 years later...

Papunta ako ngayon sa isang cafe sa sentro. Carrie was in town and invited me over for coffee. It has been almost two years since I last saw her. Sila Tabi at Marceline naman ay hindi pa rin pumupunta rito kahit ilang beses ko ng kinukulit.

I saw Carrie on a corner. May kasama itong babae sa mesa. She usually goes with Waldo everywhere, nasaan kaya ito?

"Miss Carrie."

She never changed ganoon pa rin ito. Dressed up very elegantly with the iconic mesh veil that covered her face.

"Amara, you look great."

I smiled. "Thanks." Napahaplos ako sa naka-braid kong buhok. I let it grow at hanggang beywang ko na nga iyon. I had it colored to the lightest brown kaya mas nangibabaw ang kaputian ko.

"By the way, this is Jodine. My new secretary in training."

"Oh. Nasaan po si Waldo?"

Carrie waved her hand. "It's about time he starts his own family."

I nodded. Carrie might look and act bitchy sometimes but she's still one of the best employers to be with.

"Hi Jodine, I'm Amara."

"Hello po, Miss Amara."

"Amara na lang." Tinignan ko si Carrie nang matapos akong mag-order ng tsa. "The last time we met here like this, you offered me a job."

"Which I am doing right now." Napatingin ako rito. "I really loved how you decorated my parties and events at the club."

"I don't think-"

"Hear me out." Carrie raised her hand to stop me. "I want you to do one last event for me. The club will celebrate its tenth year in a month. It's a big milestone for me and the club of course. I want you to organize it for me."

"I am happy with the milestone Miss Carrie but I don't think I can go back there."

"It's one last favor from me."

I looked at her. Going back there is not that easy. I miss my friends there of course but there was one particular person that I am not ready to see.

"Chael won't be there if that's what you're worried about. He's actually in the process of closing the Greenhouse down. Now I have to look for another one better than him."

Isasara na ni Chael ang restaurant nito? But he loved it so much. How can he give it up? And how does Carrie know what's holding me back?

"He's also thinking of withdrawing his membership from the club so he probably won't be there on the event. Too bad, his restaurant has been a big part of my success." Carrie sipped her coffee. "So going back to you, are you in for the job? Jodine can send you the details as soon as you want to accept it."

"Can I think about it?"

"Sure. Here's my hotel. You can check on Jodine if you make up your mind."

I nodded before accepting the note.

Matagal ng nakaalis ang dalawa pero nakaupo pa rin ako doon. Why am I even contemplating it? I have moved on right? I have accepted the fact that Chael and I are not gonna happen. Because if he really liked me or loved me at all, he would have come here. Gaano ba kahirap para rito na pumunta sa Amsterdam?

I shook my head. It doesn't matter now does it? What would I lose with just one event?

The next day, I got in touch with Jodine, Carrie's secretary. Her boss is travelling the city kaya ito muna ang makakausap ko.
