Calhoun had a tight smile on him while we were seated at the table. Tabi was in the kitchen to fetch the dessert.

"Are you okay? Natatae ka ba?" Hindi ko mapigilang tanong ko rito.

"No..."

Sinundan ko ang tingin nito. Of course, it was the fucking freaking ring.

"You have a ring on your left ring finger."

"I know, it's my finger."

"It has a very shiny rock."

"I can see that."

"Is that a gift for yourself for being a good girl?"

Kumunot ang noo ko rito. He was mumbling nonsense. "You fucking married my friend. Don't you know what an engagement ring looks like?"

"I know. I'm wondering how...why...who..."

"Sir Calhoun, you do know how an engagement works right?"

"Wow."

Tinignan ko si Tabi nang dumating na ito sa wakas.

"What happened?" Tanong nito.

"You're husband is weird."

"She has a ring on, Tabi." Tila nagsusumbong na sabi nito.

"Yes because because she's engaged, baby." Paliwanag ni Tabi rito.

"But what about-"

"She's happy where she is now. Let's not make this dinner awkward hmm?"

"Both of you are acting weird. I'm not awkward being here. Well, Chael is not here so I am feeling okay." Sabi ko na lang.

"What are you saying-" Naputol ang sinasabi ni Calhoun nang sikuhin ito ni Tabi ng bahagya.

"Wala siya dito baby. Hayaan mo na."

"Pero-"

Her friend kissed her husband on the lips to shut him up.

"Guys, please don't make babies in front of me." I said and I rolled my eyes.

"Sorry." Sabi na lang ni Calhoun dito pagkatapos ito bigyan ni Tabi ng nagbabantang tingin.

The conversation de-escalated already at nag-kwentuhan na lang kami sa nangyari sa dalawa. Na-kwento ni Tabi na may series sila na ginawa ni Chael at meron naman iyon online kung gusto ko raw panoorin para ma-proud ako sa kanya as a friend.

I had a feeling something was off with everyone around me.

Habang pauwi ako sa Wallflower ay napapaisip ako. I was just enjoying the breeze when I stopped walking and I wasn't in front of the Walflower. I was in front of the Greenhouse.

It was as majestic as it used to be. I smiled sadly when I remembered my first memory here. I sat on the bench I sat on during my first night here.

"Do you smoke?"

Napatingin ako sa tumabi sa akin sa bench. It was no one but Attorney Hera. She lighted a stick before handing me her box of cigarettes. Umiling ako.

"Good for you."

"Dumarami ba ang kliyente natin attorney?"

"You can say that."

Attorney Hera is a very composed woman. She speaks so eloquently and moves gracefully. I wonder how she is in a courtroom.
