Dream POV
"Are you feeling better?" Wilbur asked.
"A little. I think that the painkillers helped me that you said you gave me, I don't know. But my neck is still a little aching and I have a headache." I answered honestly. I feel like I can trust Wilbur. He has been nice to George.
"That should pass in a bit. When was the last time you have eaten?"
"Uhm.. I don't know, I can't keep track of time. But it felt like ages have passed. George fed me not too long ago, otherwise no one had considered doing that."
Wilbur frowned "What? That's awful. I can come over to your cell from time to time, I like making myself sandwiches and I can bring you some over, like a snack so you don't have to starve. Sounds good?"
"Sandwiches? I've heard of that before in the city, is it.. uhh.."
"Normally those are toppings on bread, such as sausages, butter, cheese, sometimes veggies and all sorts. It's whatever, anyone can choose what's better tasting for them. I can bring a few different ones for you. So?"
I smiled, liking the idea a lot. It does sound like it would taste good "Of course. Never will I say no to food, I've never had enough in my life before" I sat up and keep holding eye contact with Wilbur.
"Alright, then I'll definitely keep that in mind. You can count on me" he took another sip from the coffee. Me being aware of the coffee in this room made me smell it even from afar and it smells so unpleasent for my nose. Doesn't look good either.
"Tell me more about yourself" I like how he kept going with our conversation. "Like, you said you were in the city. Weren't you afraid people would literally freak out from your appearance?"
My tail started wagging, I liked that question. I'm glad Wilbur had interest in my life. In my little stories.
I sat up straight "Okay, so." I pulled my legs up to myself on the metal table and crossed them. "I only roam around in the city when the moon is up right above my head because that's when the humans seem to be sleeping. I mean, some are still up and walking around outside, being weird and noisy, but I always avoid them."
"I think those are crackheads if they walk outside at like 3 am" he laughed.
"Whatever the hell they are, they even scare me. I have so many stories from when I was roaming around there! For my own safety, I always walk around as the hybrid, exploring many places for food when I didn't catch enough prey or nothing at all for days in my forest. Trashcans were full with food! But then when I went down an alley to eat in peace, I was literally attacked by a huge crowd of raccoons out of nowhere, it was insane! They scared me to death. And the fact is that they did manage to scar me so many times. Wait..." I looked around on my body, trying to remember the exact spots where I was scarred. I showed many on my ankles "There and.." and then looked up, pointing right under my lower jaw "-there. These annoying critters were all over me." I saw Wilbur genuinely listening to me with an invested look.
"What??" he laughed. "I know raccoons can have a dangerous bite, but also dare to scar you?? Brave animals, seriously" he rolled his eyes.
"I know! And once I accidentally came across those crackheads, young people, and I scared them so bad they started throwing bottles at me and screaming for help. Literal glass bottles, that was a funny experience. From the houses people came approaching and it was so close before they would have seen me. It really was funny to see them so terrifed of me, I used to enjoy it a lot. Scaring so many people on accident. Their fault for coming outside so late even if they know I'm roaming on the streets. Idiots, honestly."
