"We don't have much more time, let's keep going," Sam added checking his watch.
"Wait lights off, lights off," Justin added. We each turned off our flashlights waiting in the dark. The sounds the jungle made were terrifying. Everything was alive in here.
"What?" Sam whispered.
"I saw light in the distance," He whispered.
"Shit, shit." We heard what sounded like a car.
"To the left," Colby added as we all looked through the woods. There were flashlights coming towards us.
"Go, go, go," Sam whispered and we all took off running with only the camera light making the path visible to us. The pavement was wet, but surprisingly none of us slipped. Thankfully. It would have been me.
"Okay," Justin sighed.
"This really reminds me of the story," I began, but Nate put his hand over my mouth.
"Don't worry I got her guys," The others laughed. I just sighed as we began walking again. Nate at my side.
"Woah!" Sam shouted shining his light on a building.
"What is that?" Colby stepped closer to the building.
"You all see that right?" I asked seeing the shadows or a painting, I assume, on the top of the building.
"I don't want to say what that looks like," Sam added.
"What, someone pointing a gun at a child's head," Colby added and Sam sighed.
"Yeah, but I didn't want to say that," We moved toward the structure.
"Wait how much time do we have?" I asked remembering we were on a time crunch.
"None, we are out of time, let's get to the top of that building and then radio Roxanne," Sam added. We all agreed and pushed forward. We walked through the wreckage seeing stairs.
"Hey, it's a ruler," Justin said showing us the ruler with the camera light.
"That is actually sick," I said leaning over to see it. When we made it to the top we immediately went over to inspect the painting thing.
"This looks a tad better," Justin admitted. It looked like a piece of fruit was sitting on a girl's head, her eyes covered.
"A little bit," Colby grimaced. I stepped back moving towards the side of the building as Colby followed.
"Maybe it's showing how the socialist society just wanted them to follow blindly while they destroyed the apple of truth," Nate explained. No matter where we are or what we are doing. Nate's vocabulary never goes down, also his ideas. I found out he is an artist. He likes poetry and writing music. I have several of his songs on my playlist actually.
"Don't fall off the edge," Justin warned as Colby stopped.
"Woah," He chuckled showing the camera down below. "Think you can make that?" He whispered to me. I squatted down shining my flashlight at the debris.
"Probably, but I don't want to kill a crab," I looked back up at him and I smiled. I felt someone grab my hips pulling me away from the edge.
"Let's not do that again, yeah?" Nate offered giving me a tight smile
"Look there is another building over there," Sam added.
"Should we radio Roxanne?" Justin added pulling out the walkie-talkie.
"Roxanne," Sam called. "We are going to need a little more time." Nothing. I feel like it was supposed to have a hum when there was a connection or something. "Please answer back so we know you got this message and won't leave us behind." Sam looked around at all of us, but no answer.
