Xichen paused in drinking his tea, he kept the cup down and looked out the window, the sun hadn't come out yet.

His brother had come at past five to the Hanshi at his request.

Xichen was sure Wei Ying must have still been asleep hence Wangji was sitting here looking at him ready to bear any punishment for his Unruly partner.

This here was what Xichen was worried about, if Wangji kept breaking the rules like this it will all be blamed on Wei Wuxian.

"It does brother Wei Ying is my partner and you're my brother"

Wangji Squeezed his hands together looking down at the tea cups, not able to say the next things he was about to his brother's face.

"You and Wei Ying are important I value you both." Wangji was scared, he wouldn't admit it to his brother, and he didn't want to be forced to choose.

"Wei Ying only went to help in the investigation about the illusions to see if the was a way he could help to fortify our minds" he spoke in one breath his voice shaky.

Lan Zhan felt torn between his beloved brother and his beloved Wei Ying.

Lan Xichen could see the pain on his brother's face, he didn't want to be at odds with Wei Ying but nothing was clear now, what mattered was finding evidence, and investigating the situation and Wangji was not helping by carrying his husband into the forbidden room. His intentions might be good but his uncle Won't see that. It will only enable their uncle with more allegations to use against Wei Wuxian.

How to make his brother see his point.
