They could hear Tonks down the hall calling for August. In a very knowing tone, knowing very well what was keeping August in her locked room. George was holding a giggling August down on her bed.

"Shh." George whispered, covering her mouth with his hand, "Maybe they won't know we're up here."

"I know you're in there Weasely!" Moody yelled down the hall, "O'Keefe has her first patrol tonight, get your las dressed and get her going!"

"I was trying to get her going..." George whispered at the door, with his middle finger up at it.

"I SAW THAT BOY!"

August covered her face giggling.

"I'll be back in the morning." She told him, "We can finish then."

"Do you know how hard it was to be away from you?" He looked her up and down under him, "away from this body..." He smirked.

"It was barely a month," She laughed pushing him off.

"Believe me!" George begged, throwing himself flat on the bed, looking up at her, "I was dying without you."

"I believe your right hand probably got jealous of your left. That's about all I believe." August said.

After a brief silent pause, George broke into a hardy laugh. She could even hear Moody giving a chuckle in the hall.

"Missed that wit of yours." George smiled. "Just be safe, okay?"

"It's just a patrol." August reminded him, caressing his cheek, "I'll be back before breakfast."

The moonlight made walking deceptive; though she could see every detail on the ground, she had no depth perception; flat plants and jagged stones look the same height, causing her to lift her feet absurdly high over nonexistent obstacles and stubbing her toes on protruding rocks. She walked as fast as she could, listening to the of sounds of pursuit behind them. The sun was going to be up in a few hours, they just had to keep running. Tonks had August's hand in a tight grasp as she sprinted them toward a more crowded part of town. Tonks knew there had to be some muggles getting up for the day, up just in time for work. They weren't strong enough to do something like kill a few witches in front of the muggles yet. They were still in hiding.

"Tonks, where are we going?" August whispered

"We should have stayed on course.." Tonks sighed, "I'm sorry, August. I shouldn't have been messing around."

"Let's just go back home. Apparate back." August added, "They won't be able to follow us there."

"They'll hear the crack, they'll know were witches." Tonks told her, pushing August into a dark corner and covering her mouth, "They'll know we're looking for them."

"Is it always this boring?" August yawned as they walked down an empty road, lined with townhomes. There were a few lights on, but it seemed like most of the occupants were fast asleep, which August was longing for. All she could think about was her head hitting the cold pillow.

"Sadly." Tonks laughed, "Eh?" She turned to August with a cheeky smile, "There's a stream just that way, usually when the muggles go to sleep the pixies come out. They're actually quite beautiful when they're not nipping at your nose."

August nodded, excitedly. The girls ran into the woods, laughing as both of them kept tripping over surfaced roots. Brushing twigs from their hair. They found a fallen trunk just a few yards from the stream, where they watched the blue glow of the pixies drifting about.
