"August!" Jade yelled from the other room, "Are you packed? We have to leave soon, or you're going to miss your train!"

"Yeah." August yawned on the couch, arms wrapped around a pillow with her legs propped up on the coffee table in front of her. Her eyes glued to the television, Remus next to her with a cup of tea in his lap.

"Are you actually packed?" Remus asked

"No." August told him. Dorothy is clicking her ruby heels together on the tv 'there's no place like home', "It's like apparition." she points out.

August snuggled the pillow more, closing her eyes.

"Why are you so tired?" Remus asked. Jade walked into the room and caught sight of August falling asleep.

"Hi." Jade said, looking down at her daughter. August opened one eye, looking up at her mother

"Hi." August said with a grin

"Do you see this?" Jade held a sweater over August's face

"Yeah," August yawned, "That's my sweater."

"I know." Jade smiled dryly, "Do you know what I saw upstairs?"

"No."

"A pile of your clothes on the floor."

August's eyes went wide, looking at Remus

"Don't look at him." Jade barked, "He can't help you. You said you were packed! We are supposed to leave in 10 minutes!"

Jade stormed off to August's room.

"If you didn't stay up all night writing to George and watching jeopardy reruns, you could have had a full night's rest and had time to pack your bag!" She yelled as she walked back and forth between the room and bathroom, clothes and toiletries zooming past her head and into August's trunk.

Remus amused, went back to drinking his tea and changed the channel. August was over the back of the couch watching her mother pack her stuff.

"Yeah, but you like packing for me anyways!" August shouted, "You hate how I pack."

"Because you do not fold! And then I receive letters that you show up to class in wrinkled skirts."

"It's because the last time I tried the ironing charm, I burnt my skirt."

Jade stopped between the doorway looking at her daughter.

"Have it hung up while you shower! The steam will help." Jade huffed, dragging the trunk out of the room with August school robes floating behind her. "Go brush your hair."

August jumped over the back of the couch, planting a wet, sloppy kiss on her mothers cheek and running away before her mother could grab her.

"You are lucky you missed that." Jade sighed falling into the couch next to Remus. He didn't say anything at first. He looked at Jade and then back at the tv.

"Is it always like this?" Remus asked

"August almost missed the train last year." Jade said

Remus snorted

"It's not funny." Jade sighed, "August was obsessed with pranking me that summer. And I didn't even notice until the day we were leaving for the train."

"Is that why you were late?"

"Yes, because I was lost in my own damn house. I couldn't find anything."

"What did she do?" Remus choked on laughter

"The day she got back from school, she switched an item to the other side of the house. So slowly over the 3 months, she flipped my entire house around."
