"Why are we driving back?" George laughed. August faked her smile the best she could.
"I have stuff in the trunk." August lied, "We're gonna move back into the house. It's not safe anymore at Sirius'" That wasn't a lie.
They were pulling down the dirt drive. The Burrow looked warm and welcoming, even though there was a woman in there that August found very unwelcoming. They sat parked out front for a bit in silence.
"Do you want to come in?" George asked, "Mum could probably make us some tea or something."
"No," August shook her head, "I have to drive back to the city after dropping all this off. I don't want to be out too late."
"You still up for the dinner party tomorrow?" He asked, "Charlie is coming into town. Mum finally laid off on Bill and Fleur's engagement."
August's heart tore in two.
"Yeah, I'll be there." She choked.
"Are you okay, Augy?"
"Yeah, sorry." August let out a painful laugh, "Just miss my mum." It wasn't a lie per say, it just wasn't the reason for her tears at that moment. He leaned forward and kissed her. She knew it was unfair to him because he was kissing her like any normal day. He probably won't remember this kiss, because it was so natural. But August held on to this kiss as long as she could. She wanted to remember it all. The way his lips fit against hers. The curve of them. She wanted to remember everything at this moment.
"I lost my notebook," George shook his head chuckling, "It's somewhere in my room, or maybe at the flat. But, I'll find it tonight and you write to me okay." He nodded, "If you can't sleep, or you need me. Just write to me. I'll come to you."
"Okay." August said sadly, "I'll write to you."
"Are you okay, August?" George looked at her, "Actually?"
"Yeah." August nodded, and then kissed him again, "I'll be okay. I promise."
She wished he knew what she was saying.
"Okay," He smiled, kissing her again, "I'll see you tomorrow."
"I'll see you tomorrow." She said sadly, as she watched him get out of the car.
August went and parked the car at the house and apparated back to London, where she found Harry sitting in the kitchen. She asked Sirius to tell Harry everything while she said goodbye to George.
"I mean, seriously August?" Harry sighed in disbelief. August was sitting at the end of the dinner table, her legs up on the seat of her chair. She was hugging them, with a mug of coffee in her hands. "Wh-why? Does George know this has been in conversation?" Harry shakes his head, "He must be against this idea... This suicide mission."
August's eyes shift from Harry to the steam coming out of her mug.
"He doesn't know," August says quietly.
Harry let out a laugh, a painful and angry huff of one.
"You haven't even mentioned it to him?"
"He's been busy... with the shop. He's been trying to take care of me on top of everything else..." she says, "They have been trying to get the store open and finalized."
"When would you leave?"
"Tomorrow morning." She tells him, "Dumbledore thinks is better if I go now, especially since the funeral was a few days ago... It'll look like I went on a trip. I-I don't know... To like grieve in peace..."
