Havu was two months old when she started saying her first word. No one was surprised at what her first two words were.
Lena was sitting there holding Havu close. "Mama.. can you say mama?"
Striker smiled some sitting with them. "Daddy?"
Havu poked her tongue out. "Mmm.." she titled her head.
"Mama." Lena smiled saying it slow.
Havu tilted her head the other way. "Mmmm... ma...ma."
Lena nuzzled her. "That's right baby."
"Mama!" Havu hugged her.
Striker smiled some. "Awww cute snoot."
Havu looked to him. "Mama?"
Striker chuckled. "Dada."
Havu poked her tongue out.
He smiled some and took her, setting her in his lap. "Dada." He said it slow.
Havu tilted her head. "D...d..."
Striker rubbed under her chin. "Dada."
Havu wiggled her snoot. "Da... da. Dada!"
Striker teared up and hugged her. "That's right baby, Dada."
"Dada! Mama!" Havu purred.
Lena smiled and hugged them both.

In the days and weeks that followed she added more words to her vocabulary.
Making Drake cry when she said "Unca Dwake." He hugged her so close and nuzzled her. She giggled and kissed his snoot.
Calling Brash "Unca Bash" which well, close enough.
When they visited Lena's grandparents it was. "Gamma n Gampa n Tahyfox."
When Ray and his family visited. It was "Unca Way, Kyky and Belle."
And Bael paid a visit in cat form. Havu hugged him the whole time and said "Pwetty kitty." Bael just accepted it and kept her company.
Striker was amazed at how patient Bael was with her.
Havu held Bael and nuzzled him. Bael just purred and cuddled her, even napping with her. Demon King, yes but he also had the patience of a Saint and was even calm when she tugged his tail or ears.
Lena just smiled, happy to see them getting along.

Throughout March little Havu started gnawing on things. Striker would often give her ice pops or frozen waffles.
"She's teething..." Lena chuckled.
"That's what scares me." Striker said.
"What do you mean?"
"She's going to pop her fangs first. Venom from a rattlesnake... it's deadly. We have to be careful." Striker said.
"But hun you bite me all the time..." Lena said.
"Yeah well..." he flinched. "My venom glands and fangs were removed..."
Lena saw the way he reacted, that flinch and the pain in his eyes. She hugged him. "It was him wasn't it?"
Striker nodded. "Brash had his yanked too. Father didn't want us being able to kill him with a bite. Her venom won't effect me, but it could hurt you."
Lena held him close. "Maybe there's a way to suppress her venom until she can control it."
"Maybe..." Striker nuzzled her and they both looked to Havu napping on the fuzzy rug by the fireplace.

Lena did what she always does when she is unsure about something, she asked Bael. The Raven watching the house suddenly flew down, eyes turning green.
"Bael... Striker is worried about Havu's venom hurting me... is there a way to suppress it until she can control it?' Lena asked.
He spoke through the raven. "Yes.. of course there is. I could do it easily. Let me know when you want me to do it."
Lena smiled and sighed. "I worry though..."
"Why dear?" He looked to her.
"Will it stunt her development?" She asked.
"Mmm it shouldn't. " he sighed. "I get your worry though."
"I just... I don't want her to feel different." Lena sighed.
"Mmm it's actually fairly common for young snakes to have their venom surpressed." Bael stated.
"Oh?"
"Mhm... young snake demons often have it suppressed until they get out of the teething phase." He nodded.
"I'll let you know then." Lena said smiling.
"Good." The raven flew off.

Lena's birthday came, Kygo and his lady baby sat that night. Lena and Striker had wanted some alone time, the pair understood that fully.
Lena warned them that Havu was close to cutting teeth and if that happened they were to call on Bael for help. She also told them why as did Striker.
Kygo smiled some. "Don't worry, we can handle her."
Belle just smiled. "If she cuts a tooth I'll make sure to call for him." She assured them.
It wasn't until morning that something happened thankfully. On the second day of April, Havu woke screaming and crying.
Belle bolted awake and ran to the room. "Baby, no it's okay. I'm here." She stopped seeing Kygo was already there, slumped on the floor. "Kygo!" She ran over and checked his pulse then looked him over. He had two puncture wounds in his left arm. She did the only thing she knew to summon help. "Bael.. Bael... Bael!"
The demon King appeared and looked for a spilt second before knowing just what to do.He started pulling the venom from Kygo with his powers, the other hand extending and starting the suppression spell on Havu.
Kygo came back and shook his head, blinking. "Did I just almost die?"
Bael chuckled finishing the suppression spell. "Yeah... little Havu here cut her teeth on ya." He picked up the little snake and lifted her head. "Two fangs, almost fully out."
Belle hugged Kygo. "Are you okay?"
Kygo smiled. "Yeah hun I'm okay." He nuzzled her. "So... Havu is okay now?"
Bael nodded. "Yes... her venom is suppressed." He handed her to them. "She still has a mean bite though."
Havu whimpered and hugged Kygo. "Kyky." She sniffled.
"I'm okay little one. Promise." He nuzzled her and Belle chuckled some watching them.
Bael nodded and vanished.

Around noon Lena and Striker picked up little Havu.
Kygo and Belle explained what happened.
Striker holding Havu and lifting her lips. "Mmm fangs. Sorry she cut her teeth on ya Kygo."
"Ha it's no problem, she was a joy to watch aside from that." Kygo smiled.
Belle chuckled and looked to them. "She was so upset she hurt Kygo."
Havu whined. "Kyky..."
Kygo chuckled and nuzzled noses with her. "Hey, I'll see you again little snoot. And I'm okay."
Havu hugged him and nuzzled him.
He smiled and let her go. "She really is a joy."
Havu cuddled into Striker and purred.
"See ya later." Belle and Kygo waved.
Striker held Havu close as they headed home, Lena beside them.
