"Yuuki!"
Touma raised his head from his phone screen. His eyes widened when he saw her. "Dashi?" It was the middle of the day. Touma was out to meet up with Sakura who had yet to arrive.
Dashi hooked her arm with Touma's. "Yuuki," she repeated.
"How are you alive?" She shook her head no.
Dashi stared off into the distance, and then she started giggling. She ducked behind Touma.
Hayate stopped a few paces away from Touma. "I get that you're still mad," he said, "but we need to talk."
Touma's brows furrowed. "About?"
"I just spoke to Katsu Akano."
Touma's shoulders tensed at the sound of the name. "What did he say?"
Hayate dragged a hand through his hair. "The fourth King is alive."
"Are you serious?"
"Yes, yes. Fourth was born!" Dashi exclaimed.
"Dashi," Touma started, "do you know who the fourth King is?"
Dashi looked between Touma and Hayate who both stared at her as the suspense built up. She pointed forward, past Touma's face. "Her."
In the past, it had been well known that there were four Spirit Beasts. Meaning it was well known that there was always a possibility that there could be four Kings. If all four were born, it was called the age of Kings.
Each Spirit Beast gave its Wielder an arsenal of weapons as well as special abilities. Something less known was that each Spirit Beast had its own personality.
The first, the celestial kitsune. Tenko gave her Wielder power over the cold elements, the ice of winter and the shadows. Her disposition was calm and controlled, but at times she was known to be sly.
The second, the shapeshifter. Obake gave her Wielder the power of shapeshifting and the power of what can only be called suggestive compulsion. She was known to be a greedy creature that possessed an insatiable hunger.
