("DING DING")

I quickly shot my eyes open because of my loud alarm. I rose from the comfort of my bed to see Jimin about to open the closet door.
Upon seeing me getting up, he exclaimed, "Morning!" smiling widely. That cute eye smile could kill anyone.
"What are you doing?" I asked him.
He twisted the door knob and said, "Getting ready."
"For what?" I questioned. Before he winked, he said, "For school." Oh my gosh. I failed to remember that it was Monday. Before I rushed to the bathroom to fix my hair, I glanced at the time on my phone. 6:57 AM. I looked over at the notification I just got. Oh my gosh. I had also completely forgotten that prom was today. I fixed my attention on my reflection in the mirror. Gosh, I looked like a mess. I grabbed my hairbrush and began to brush my hair because I needed to untangle it. Fortunately, there were no severe knots. I set the brush down and with my other hand, I took my toothbrush from its cup. Because prom is an important event, I had to make myself look glamorous. Just then, I had a sudden flashback. I realized that because the prom started at 7:30, I had no time to prepare. I had to get going because school started at 7:10.

"I'm done, Y/n!" I heard Jimin shout. "I'll meet you downstairs!" I yelled back while a little shaken because of my panic. I could hear the door shut. I inhaled deeply. I needed to calm down. I grabbed my toothpaste and started to place it on my toothbrush before brushing my teeth.

The green traffic light was visible to me. My principal had informed us that we would only have one class on the day of the prom, so I had worn my school uniform earlier and packed my dress in my backpack. I was extremely anxious because I barely had time to wear makeup today. By our school building, I noticed banners when we eventually got there. One of the signs read, "PROM." It was surrounded by decorations that I assumed had something to do with the prom. I noticed a figure as I was scanning the school through the window. It was Jimin. He reached for my hand after opening the car door. "Come on out, my queen," he said, smiling. I told him, trying to cover my red face, "Stop it, we're in public." He laughed. We entered the building holding each other's hands. Since it was 7:04, students had already left for class so there were no people in the hallways. Upon seeing my uncle as we entered our history class, I let go of his hand. "You're lucky you're not late. Take a seat," he told us. As we were heading to our seats, he started to speak. "So, does everyone have a date to the prom?" he asked. Some of my classmates nodded their heads while the other half answered affirmatively. Everyone responded yes to my uncle's question. I was one of the students who nodded their heads. Jimin did the same. Uncle Jin glanced at us and I caught him teasingly smirking. I could tell that he was aware that we were prom dates. I made the decision to ignore it as best as I could because it irritated me. I let out a sigh of relief after he finally began to teach.

The bell rang, cutting uncle Jin off.
"Well, that concludes today's lesson," he said. He started to grab his keys from his pocket and headed toward the door. My classmates were already one step ahead of him. He unlocked the door while they patiently waited. Jimin and I both reached for our bags behind our chairs. We walked down the corridor after the students. As I was searching for my locker, I heard what appeared to be the principal on the speaker say, "You may head to your locker rooms because prom is about to start in only five minutes. Be prepared," I could hear the speaker turning off with a loud beep. Only five minutes total? I had intended to put on makeup soon but now I barely had enough time to do so. Only for that reason did I pack it. I groaned as I made my way over to the girl's locker room. I thought about how I should have applied my makeup in the car. Jimin and I parted ways because he was heading in the direction of the boy's locker room. We were fortunate that our lockers were right next to the changing areas. As soon as I arrived, I threw my bag on the ground. Because of all the makeup supplies I brought, it was extremely heavy today. I had no clue where my dress was in my backpack because I hadn't had time to organize it at home. I reached inside my bag to begin looking for the dress. Silky smooth was how the dress felt, so finding it shouldn't be difficult. It turns out I was correct because the next second, I was holding it in my hand as I zipped my bag closed. Before I held it above my head to wear it, I removed my school uniform. I was the first one that made it to the girl's locker room, so there was no one there. The dress successfully slid down my body. When I was done, I tucked my school uniform away in my bag. I headed toward a mirror on my right to see how I looked. I was honestly stunning. I had the next two minutes to myself, but that was not enough time to put makeup on. Instead, I decided to wear a few accessories to spice it up. I felt some jewelry while I was searching for my dress earlier. I reopened my bag and looked inside for the necklace I had felt earlier. I eventually located it. I held a necklace with a cute butterfly on it when I raised my hand. I quickly attempted to put it on but struggled to do so.
"Hey, need some help?" I heard someone say from behind me. I turned around. It was Aera! "Yes, please," I said, turning back around to help her see the necklace better. "Okay," I heard her say. I felt her nails on the back of my neck as she assisted me. "Done!" she told me. I spun around and looked at her. I smiled and said, "That was quick." "You're welcome," she said. "Thank you," I told her. "That dress looks so good on you!" I exclaimed, admiring the dress she was wearing. "Thanks!" she said, her face lighting up. "Meet you there!" she said, waving her hand. I waved back as she ran away. I exited the locker room and immediately saw a door that definitely wasn't there before. "Time is up, students! Please proceed to the prom's entrance." I heard the principal say. Immediately after the principal was done speaking, the doors opened.

It was the prom behind it! I ran toward it. It turns out that there was another door across the room and I saw some students entering. I was anxiously waiting for Jimin, Aera, or someone I know but after two minutes, no one came yet. I started to feel awkward just standing there so I sat down on a black chair next to me and continued waiting. I rose up from my seat when I saw Aera holding hands with Ha-Jun. She turned her head around and saw me before smiling widely. Then, she tapped Ha-Jun's shoulder. What she was saying was inaudible to me because of the loud music that was playing. Ha-Jun looked at me before smiling and waving. I waved back. They started to head in my direction. "Hi bestie!" she said, sitting down with Ha-Jun across my chair. "You're Y/n, right?" he asked me. "Yeah," I replied. "Aera has told me so many things about you!" he said with a cheerful expression on his face. He's actually a really nice guy. "So, where's your date?" she questioned me. "I don't know," I replied to her, and my face immediately became gloomy. "Oh. He'll come soon, don't worry!" she tried to cheer me up. "I hope so," I said. "Come on," she told me, getting up from her seat. "Let's dance!" Ha-Jun also lifted his body from the seat. "That's a good idea! Come on, Y/n!" he encouraged. I gave in. "Fine," I said while Aera dragged my body to the dance floor. Before I could start dancing, I saw someone walking in. Jimin! He was wearing a dark-blue charming-looking tuxedo that made him look irresistible. I immediately left and ran straight to hug him. "Where have you been?" I whined. He gently pushed me away and said, "I wanted to look extra handsome for you," while rubbing the back of his neck nervously. "You look gorgeous as always," he said, a small grin on his face. I had to admit, that was pretty cute. "And you look like the same handsome nerd I always knew," I said teasingly. We both laughed. Suddenly, the music changed. It was slow and romantic. I should have known there was gonna be romantic music. I was a bit confused because of the sudden change of music so I turned around and everyone was slow dancing including Aera and Ha-Jun. I started becoming nervous until I felt Jimin's hand on my shoulder. He held my other hand and turned me around. "Shall we?" he mumbled. "Sure," I replied. We stepped onto the dance floor. "The thing is, I don't know how to slow dance," I informed him. "That's fine, just let the music guide you." He said, placing his hand on my shoulder to my palm. I looked up at him and he looked so lovely. I placed my hands on his shoulders which were now wrapping around his neck. We started to dance. I followed Jimin's advice and it surprisingly worked. Our chemistry was so perfect. I was so lost in the music and in his deep, chestnut eyes. I suddenly spotted him staring at my lips, looking lost too. "Jimin?" I whispered. He shook his head. "Yeah?" he replied. "Are you okay?" I asked him. "Y-yeah, sorry," he mumbled. "Why are you apologizing?" I questioned him. "I'm sorry for being so handsome," he said. I scoffed. "You're such a flirt," I said quietly. Our faces were so close. I became more distracted by his eyes than by the dance and I eventually noticed that he was too. The next part was a bit of a blur. I don't know what happened but our faces began to come closer and eventually, we kissed. It wasn't a peck or an aggressive one, it was a gentle and romantic kind and it made my heart flutter. We were so close and that caused my heart to be beating rapidly, I'm almost certain he could feel it. He softly pulled his face away as the music transitioned into a rock song. He smiled before whispering, "Come on, let's get some sodas." I nodded my head and held his hand. As we were making our way to the soda area, I saw Aera and Ha-Jun with wide eyes. Suddenly, Aera pulled me away from Jimin. "SHUT UP!" she whispered loudly. "I didn't say anything-" I was cut off by her squeal. "You guys KISSED!" she told me, her eyes sparkling. "You were spying on us?" I asked her. "No! We were trying to get a drink but we accidentally came across you and him kissing," she explained. "I don't know if I believe you..." I said with a suspicious look. "Come on, I'm your best friend!" she said. She looked sincere so I said, "Fine, I believe you." her face lit up and we headed back to the boys. "Sorry about that," Aera apologized. "It's fine," Jimin answered. Ha-Jun hummed in agreement. We finally decided that since we were too exhausted to dance, we would talk until the prom was over.
