Jimin and I arrived at school just in time to hear the bell ring. We sprinted into the building and into our lesson. Jimin sat down on his chair, acting like he didn't just run what seemed like a marathon.
"Uncle!"
"Yes?"
I approached him and spoke softly into his ear.
"Can I move into your house, please? I'll explain after school," I questioned him. This seemed like the best decision because I wasn't going to stay at my dad's house and I didn't want Jimin's mother to constantly sleep in Jimin's room.
"Okay, whatever it is, I'm sure you have a good reason. Go to your seat," He said. I sat down and told Jimin about my plan.
"I'll come to your house after school to pick up my luggage," He looked a bit upset after I said that.
"Okay, as long as you're safe," He said as he smiled.
That cute smile... why do you have to be so attractive, Park Jimin?!
My uncle began to teach the class.
^^^^^^
When I left school, I spotted my uncle inside his luxurious royal blue car.
"Come on, y/n. Get in," He commanded. I dashed to his car and opened the door to the passenger seat before settling into the plush, beige seat. I told him Jimin's address.
"That's where my luggage is,"
He typed the address into the map app on his phone and said, "Got it." He pressed the gas pedal, moving the gleaming vechile forward.
"Now, explain why you want to move in with me," He said. I started telling him every detail of what happened when I moved back in with my dad. I tried not to include me and Jimin's date since I knew if I did, my uncle would freak out and bother me nonstop. And no, not in a bad way. Whenever I would mention a boy to him, he would go crazy and ship us together immediately. It's like he went to Wattpad high when he was younger.
"Your dad has always been tough on you for some reason, but I had no idea how low he would go. I understand your pain, don't worry. I'll let you move in with me without your dad knowing. But, hold on. He might come looking for you and think I kidnapped you..." My uncle Jin started overthinking out loud.
"I highly doubt that," I said, scoffing in disbelief. "He wouldn't look for me. Ever,"
My uncle sighed.
"Our omma was always hard on us. She forced us to work hard just like you. I guess your father just wanted you to be successful like him. I don't think he understands that different people have different dreams,"
"Yeah, I want to be successful but in my own way. I want to be an author, not lead his business one day."
"And I completely understand that. You know what they say, 'Chase dreams, not people,'" I completely forgot about that. Before my uncle said it, it was all the way at the back of my mind. Despite only being four words, they are really inspirational and life-changing.
"Thank you for supporting me uncle," I thanked him.
"It's not a problem, my baby chick," I loathe that nickname so much. He's been calling me that since I was five years young. I must admit, it's an adorable and sweet nickname, but it was also irritating.
"Can you please stop calling me that?" I asked him, clearly annoyed.
"Why should I?" He said with an infuriating smirk.
"Or else I'll keep calling you Uncle Grumpy," I smirked. It was pretty obvious that I was enjoying my victory. The history of that nickname? Sure. I used to call him Uncle Grumpy because when I was younger, he often had to change my diapers and he was extremely grumpy about it. Hence the nickname, Uncle Grumpy. I remembered that because my dad filmed it. He used to show me videos of me and uncle Jin from when I was little. I always laughed at those hilarious videos.
