chapter 5
THE NEXT DAY, the girl was standing at the bottom of a set of stairs with her other siblings except for Vanya, who was holding a whistle. Reginald was at the top, holding a timer and a clipboard.
"Ready, begin!" He yelled out to the siblings. Vanya blew the whistle and the siblings sprinted up the stairs. Edylenne was in third place when Five blinked up in front of everyone.
"That's not fair! Five's cheating!" Diego yelled out.
"He adapted!" Reginald yelled back at Diego.
Edylenne decided to cheat as well. She focused hard and made everyone stop in their places.
"Edylenne." All the siblings groaned in unison.
She then proceeded to float all the way up to the last set of stairs then let everyone out of the trance. She made it up the steps with Five behind her, then followed by Luther, Diego, Ben, Allison, then Klaus was last.
The siblings were all panting and Reginald excused them so they could go get some water and relax until dinner.
Edylenne decided to visit Vanya because she felt like she doesn't spend lots of time with her. She knocked on Vanya's door, and she opened it.
"Hey, Vanya. Can I come in?" Edylenne asks softly.
"Uh, sure, yeah." Vanya replied and opened the door wider so Edylenne can come in.
She walks into the girl's room. It looked like Edylenne's, just a different bed style.
Edylenne sat on the edge of the bed and Vanya pulled up her desk chair and sits in front of her.
Edylenne noticed her violin on her desk and asked, "Can you play me something?"
Vanya looked back at the violin and said, "Uh, sure." She stood up and takes the violin and puts it on her chin.
Edylenne watched the bow glide across the violin, a lovely note coming out. Vanya plays her song while Edylenne watches, flabbergasted.
After Vanya is done, Edylenne smiles and says, "That was beautiful, Vanya. You're really good."
"Thanks, Eds."
The dinner bell is being rung, and Vanya and Edylenne turn their attention to it.
Edylenne walks out of Vanya's room, with her following close behind. All of they're siblings come out of their rooms at the same time and rush down the stairs.
They all walk to the dinner table, standing behind the chairs. Edylenne looks at Five, who is glaring at Reginald.
Reginald walks into the room, and stands behind his chair. After a moment, he demands "Sit."
All the siblings sit in their chairs and Edylenne starts cutting up her food. Ben whips out his book, and reads while he eats.
Diego was carving into the table with his knives, and Allison and Luther keep on sharing looks at each other. Edylenne looked up from her food to look at Five.
