chapter 2
EDYLENNE ALWAYS LOVED the night time. It was her favorite time of the day. Especially when it was raining. Listening to the rain putter on the window. She sat at the edge of her bed, reading a book she stole from Ben after the mission. It was called 'The Outsiders' and she was really intrigued by it."Doughnuts?" Five blinked into her room, standing by the doorway with his hands in his shorts pockets.
"God damn." Edylenne mumbled. "Doesn't anyone know how to knock in this house?"
"The door was locked." Five replied as he twisted her doorknob so it wasn't locked anymore.
"Yeah, because I deserve my privacy," She hissed at him and threw one of her claw clips on her nightstand, which Five barely missed. "And, I guess I could use a doughnut." She said as she stood up from the bed and walked over to Five.
He opened the door and lead her out with his arm. "After you, love." He said smirking ever so slightly.
Edylenne rolled her eyes as she walked out of the room, and headed to his room. As soon as the pair entered Five's room, Klaus and Ben were sitting on his bed, with Klaus all up in Ben's face, which Ben looked a little uncomfortable.
"What the hell are you doing here, Klaus?! Me and Eds are going somewhere!" Five shouted at Klaus as he jerked his direction to Five.
"Oh hey! Cinco and uh." Klaus told Five and then started counting in Spanish to eight as Edylenne rolled her eyes and replied, "Ocho, Klaus." Klaus's face lit up and said, "Yeah! What's up cinco and ocho! How are my younger siblings? Anyway, me and Ben wanna come on your date!"
"First of all, no. You guys can't come. Second of all, it's not a date." Edylenne replied to Klaus's remark.
Klaus whined and Ben replied, "I didn't even want to go. He dragged me into this." Ben stood up from the bed and was starting to walk out of the room when Klaus grabbed his forearm and dragged him back into the room. "Please cinco and ocho! We won't bother you! Please!" Klaus made puppy dog eyes at them both.
Five looked down at Edylenne and made a face asking 'well-what-do-want-to-do' and she looked back at him, then looking away. She finally responded, "Fine, but you better not be pains in our asses." She said as she opened Five's window. Her and Five thought it was better to just sneak out than just Five blinking all 4 of them. Five followed behind her, then Ben, and lastly, Klaus exited Five's room and closed the window.
Five had a ladder under the window, so when he did this again he wouldn't have to jump down 7 feet and twist his ankle. But Edylenne just floated down to the ground. She waited at the bottom for the boys to get down from the ladder.
The group crossed the street and walked up to Griddy's Doughnuts. The streets were quiet, except for Klaus talking to Ben and asking him stupid questions.
"So, Benny, are you reading any new books? Is it, Shakespeare? Van Gogh? Picasso?"
"Van Gogh and Picasso are artists, imbecile." Five replied to Klaus as he held the door open for Edylenne, but didn't hold it open for Klaus and Ben, which smacked Klaus in the nose. It left a print on the glass as Ben walked in and closed the door on Klaus as well, leaving Klaus outside.
Five and Edylenne walked up to the bar and sat down next to each other. Edylenne knew exactly what she was getting. She had no idea how Five liked just plain, black coffee. She ordered it once, and took one sip the last time her and Five came here. He ended up with two cups of coffee because she didn't dare finish the nasty cup.
