Rain pattered against Yuki's window when she carried a box into the small, one bedroom apartment. She could see Dynamighty from this location and sighed. The orange and green lights blurred together and Yuki forced herself to look away.
Kirishima set a box down and grinned around the room. "The marble's right up your alley."
"Isn't it?" Yuki tapped her hand on the white marble countertops and grinned.
Kirishima plugged Yuki's TV in and turned it on to double check that it worked. The news station lit up and Yuki gasped.
"Get up Dynamight!" A kid screamed behind the announcer.
"Immediate evacuation is requested for everyone south of Blossom."
Kirishima watched the screen before he jumped to his feet. "I have to go."
"Dynamight!" Another voice yelled in the background.
Bakugo was a red and tan blur when he heaved himself up. His steps were sloppy and he growled at the villain—Yuki's stomach dropped.
"That's Botan Iwata."
"I have to go."
"I'm coming too."
"No—"
Yuki grabbed her pistol and coat and ran out after Kirishima. The TV flashed behind them when the door locked shut. They raced down the stairs and out into the rain. Kirishima sprinted toward Dynamight's building with Yuki trailing far behind him.
She gasped and ran toward the garage while Kirishima ran up the stairs for his hero costume. By the time Yuki had pulled a car to the garage door, Kirishima appeared and pushed her to the passenger seat.
Flashing lights whirled on Kirishima's car while Yuki turned the radio station on. "Chet, we need to get out of here," the reporter said. Yuki's skin crawled.
She knew Botan was strong, but...? Yuki's phone rang.
"Chief?"
"We need you on Blossom!"
"Already on my way!"
"We call ourselves the Hero Killers," a menacing voice cracked.
"Chief!"
"Come on, get up," Chief Sato growled into the phone before the line went dead.
"Hurry, Ei."
Kirishima shifted gears and glanced in the rearview mirror before slowly saying, "I'm going as fast as I can."
Yuki's finger tapped against the door as she tried to focus her energy on staying sane. Her nerves crashed into her body and Kirishima's didn't help. His dark eyes were glued on the road when they drifted around a corner and Yuki grabbed her seatbelt.
Kirishima's door flung open before he even stopped the car. He glanced at Yuki before unbuckling his seatbelt. "Take over."
And then he was out the door before Yuki even had the steering wheel in hand. A laser crashed against Kirishima's hard skin and he ran to Bakugo's limp body. Yuki slammed harder on the brakes and when the car finally stopped, she jumped out with her pistol ready.
"Chief!"
"Help Mitsuo on North Street!"
Yuki nodded and ran across the square. Mitsuo struggled against a wave of curious people and Yuki shouted. "Hey! Get back! This is not a spectacle!"
"But Dynamight's fightin—"
"That's exactly why you shouldn't be here!" Her and Mitsuo grabbed the yellow tape to block off the street. "The guys a human nuke! You want to get caught up in the explosions?"
A helicopter spiraled above them and the door slid open. Two figures jumped out and the crowd cheered.
"Deku!"
Yuki grabbed the blockade and steadied herself. Her head pounded as if she were a nut and a monkey was trying to crack it open. She glanced at the commotion and saw Bakugo step forward and collapse against Midoriya.
Deku smiled.
Uravity ran behind Deku and latched onto Bakugo. He floated in the air and Uravity glanced around before her friendly eyes landed on Yuki.
"I need to help Deku and Red Riot!" Uraraka yelled at Yuki. "Watch over him!"
Yuki finally got a good look at him. His eye was busted with blood rushing down like an unfrozen otter pop. Drenched red hair and trembles shook his body when Uraraka set him on the ground in front of Yuki.
Narrow eyes widened in surprise and a breath of air escaped his lips when he locked his sights on Yuki.
"Katsuki—"
He fainted.
