"You're on my team!" Mina slammed a blue vest in Yuki's hands. Yuki beamed and was incredibly grateful for such a ball of energy so close by.

After the winter dance, she hadn't really seen any of them. Bakugo kept his distance unless it was across their balconies, but for the most part, Yuki hadn't had any connection with any of them.

When Kaminari and Mina appeared at the general studies dorm building and requested Yuki go play laser tag with them all, Yuki couldn't refuse. They occasionally had a few days off of campus, and those days tended to be filled with grocery shopping. It would be a nice change of pace.

Kirishima twirled Yuki's hair around his finger. He was on Bakugo's team. "I'll try not to hit ya' too many times."

Yuki grinned up at him. "Give it your best shot!"

Behind Kirishima, Bakugo unzipped his gray jacket to reveal a black shirt. It was tight around his arms and Yuki shamed herself for staring when he slipped into the red vest.

They all chose their guns and ran into the room. 45 seconds to find a position and then the game would begin. Yuki ran after Mina and split off once she realized she didn't feel anyone in the furthest corner from the entrance.

"Go!" the intercom's deep voice said.

Yuki's gut pulled and jumped as the disappointment and excitement of playing the game washed over her. She kept her distance from any of those feelings and kept her gaze ahead of her in the flashing black lights.

"Oh man!" Mina whined close by.

Yuki darted around a corner and stopped in her tracks when she faced none other but class 1-A's devil. His eyes flashed bright and predatorily in the dark room and he grinned like a bear when he noticed Yuki.

His gun lowered. "I won't shoot ya' Chicken Bones."

Yuki tilted her head and backpedaled when he approached her like a curious raven. She aimed the gun at him. "It's the game."

"I have a new game." He was close enough to push her gun toward the ground and her into the little building next to them. "Rule one: call me Katsuki."

"Stop." Yuki couldn't feel her chest. It was like air had evaporated and her back smacked against the wall.

Bakugo was a lion waiting to pounce. His minty breath tickled her nose and she noticed he chewed gum. "Why?"

    "You'll change everything, Bakugo."

"You know I want change." He tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. "Like calling me Katsuki."

Yuki bit the inside of her cheek. "I'm not ready."

He smelled of freshly baked cookies that warmed an entire home up. He always had. For a split moment Yuki wondered if he even bothered with cologne before she shook her head and pushed against his chest.

"I am." His arm rested against the wall next to her and trapped her there. "What's holding you back?"

"I don't know. It's just like...Kirishima and..." Yuki gazed up at Bakugo's deep, craze-stricken eyes. Her breath hitched and he frowned.

"Do you," he licked his lips, "like me or Shitty Hair?"

Yuki immediately looked down when she whispered. "You."

Bakugo gently lifted Yuki's chin. "Kirishima's a big boy. He'll be fine."

Yuki did not trust her voice anymore. Her gaze strayed down his face and landed on his lips. His warmth seeped into her and she caught herself wondering what his lips felt like. Her friends told her that their first kiss changed their lives forever. Fireworks seemed to be a common theme, and Yuki wanted to know what fireworks were like.

    "Baku—"

    "Katsuki."

"Katsuki," Yuki managed to say before he was on her. At first, it was timid. Like she was a glass vase and a mere kiss would shatter her. His lips were rough compared to hers and she pulled back.

Bakugo shook his head. "I'm not done with you."

"I know. I'm sorry, I—" Yuki frowned. "I'm scared, Katsuki."

"Then let me be your damn hero."

That's all it took for Yuki to lean back into him. This time, he didn't care if she shattered. He tugged harshly at her waist and pushed her into the wall. She was a glass vase and only god could stop him from admiring the potter's glorious workmanship.

There were no fireworks. No new colors. No new sounds. Everything was the same, Yuki realized. Nothing had changed at all. Not really. It wasn't like she expected. She didn't become a new person. She was Yuki. And he was Katsuki. And nothing changed.

    It was right.

Every emotion in the room seeped out like smoke through a cracked window. The elation of landing a shot on someone and the shame of momentarily being out of the game leaked out of Yuki. She'd never known what it felt like to truly want something. But desire soaked into Yuki from every single one of Katsuki's pores.

    This was right.

Her knees buckled as her mind soared. She wrapped her arms around his neck and dropped her gun in the process. Bakugo grunted and Yuki grinned.

    He was right.

In a world where Katsuki was the nuke that shook the ground, he was the only source of stabilization. He was fire and she was stuck in a blizzard.

Then the sun vanished. She gasped and grasped for Bakugo and blinked wildly trying to refocus her eyes. She noticed his raccoon-like smirk when he stepped away from her. He avoided her advance, winked, held up his gun, and shot.

Her vest beeped and blinked and the counter for eight seconds began.
