The morning was tense. Someone will be leaving today. Avalon, Nessa, Valentina, and I all sat in the dining room. Breakfast was in front of us, growing cold. No one was eating.

I used my fork to pick at the scrambled eggs on my plate. An image of Mariah came to my mind, and I grinned. Mariah would be chowing down, despite the nerves. She would probably finish her meal, then ask to eat mine.

Footsteps started to approach the room and both Princes entered. Their faces were solemn.

"Miss Hastings, would you please follow me," Kalum spoke plainly.

Nessa glanced around at us. Her face was pale. She then pointed at herself, asking the boys if what she just heard was correct. Kalum nodded his head once, and Nessa took a sharp breath. We watched as she exited the room with Kalum and Jeremiah in tow.

The minute we heard their steps fade, we rushed to the giant window that out looked the entrance of the palace. The three of us, stayed like that for a while, waiting to watch Nessa leave with her packed bags, but she never came.

Prince Kalum and Jeremiah entered once again, "Miss Mason, please follow us."

Valentina straightened her posture and left. Avalon and I were the only ones waiting now. Just like before, no one left the castle.

"What's going on," I blurted out, annoyed. The nerves were really getting to me. Why are they taking us one by one? Why is no one leaving?

Avalon shrugged. I could tell she was getting anxious too, "Maybe this is some sort of test?"

"Like what? I hate tests. "Why are the Princes testing us?"

"I don't know..."

I leaned against the window and crossed my arms. This better not be some sort of pop quiz, because I always fail those.

"I wouldn't worry too much," Avalon consoled, "The princes really like you." Before I could respond, Kalum and Jeremiah were stationed, once again, at the door.

Kalum cleared his throat, "Miss Kennedy, this way please."

Avalon quickly squeezed my hand and followed the boys. Just me now. Me and my terrible thoughts.

I paced around the room for what seemed like forever. I felt like whatever Avalon was doing, was taking the longest compared to Nessa and Valentina. I glanced out of the window for the millionth time. As long as Avalon stays, I will be alright. I can't imagine being stuck here with the two witches. Of course, I need to fight for my place here as well.

"I think you know what we are going to say," Kalum voice was soft.

I spun around and saw both boys clasping their hands together and staring at me.

I nodded my head and followed them from the dining hall. My legs were like jelly. I had to keep reminding myself to breathe.

"What's going on," I asked nervously.

Jeremiah and Kalum exchanged a worried glance.

My eyes grew wide, "Well that's not helping!"

Kalum chuckled, "Calm yourself. When you're freaked out you say the weirdest things. Just try to remain calm."

We began walking up the stairs.

Jeremiah rubbed the back of his neck, "You'll do great Sarah. Just be yourself."

"That's terrible advice," Kalum laughed.

"Hey! Don't be rude," I snapped.

Kalum raised his hands in defense, "I'm joking!"
