I'm not sure when, but Kalum must have washed my dress from yesterday and laid it on the bed, while I was sleeping. Which I am partially thankful for, because it allowed me to change into my dress before Jeremiah could recognize I was sleeping in Kalum's clothes.

My arms were wrapped around Jeremiah's waist now as we rode back to the castle. Not even 24 hours ago, I was doing this same thing with Kalum.

Jeremiah's kind voice broke me from my thoughts, "I'm happy you're back, Bug. I've missed you. Don't go running away without me next time." He laughed.

I squeezed my arms tighter around him and grinned into his back, "I've missed you too. Thanks for coming back to get me."

I then began imagining the awkward morning-after Kalum and I would be having right now, if Jeremiah hadn't come.

"You really care about me, huh," I mused.

"You're finally realizing," he exclaimed in laughter, "My brother was nice to you, right?"

In this moment, I was extremely thankful Jeremiah was so focused on guiding the horse. If he wasn't he'd notice the truth on my face, "Y-yeah. He was nice."

"Good. I was going to hurt him, if he did anything to you."

I faked a giggle.

Jeremiah's head turned so he could glance at me, stars dancing in his eyes, "I actually have an amazing date planned for us tonight. It'll be one to never forget, promise."
